On average it takes a woman 7 tries before ‘successfully’ leaving an abusive relationship.

The most dangerous time for a woman, in her relationship, is when she decides to, starts to or does leave.

We have created a short slide presentation that you can go through at your own pace if you are thinking of leaving or if you are someone supporting someone navigating DV.

If you are in any form of danger, your first point of contact needs to be the police.

It might seem clear up from the outside, but inside its complex, full of confusion, self doubt, second guessing and hoping things will get better.

Go easy on yourself. Leaving is a process.

The move on face. People with toxic and narcissistic tendencies usually have someone else lined up to move onto. They don’t want, or can’t, be on their own for too long.

Be wary of face moving relationships and people who want to move on quickly after theirs has ended.

Regardless of whether you are dealing with someone with narcissistic tendencies or someone who is toxic or controlling, ensuring you document evidence correctly is vital If you have to go down the legal avenue.

🚩 isolation.

If you have to cut people out of your life to keep your new partner ‘happy’ and to prove ‘trust’, that’s a massive red flag.

The toxic person is slowly working toward eroding your network, reducing the people who may call out the abuse they see, reduce the people you can turn to for support, all under guise of ‘proving your love’.

It’s not healthy.

Regardless of if they are ‘narcissistic’ or just a very toxic person, your best way to navigate them is to go ‘no contact’.

It does not matter what you say or do, they will distort the facts to work with their story. Narcissistic and toxic people are very good at re-writing history.
