What a beautiful morning we had at playgroup today!

I only managed to snap one photo while we were busy playing. If you took any photos today, we'd love to see them! Tag us in your posts or stories so we can share the memories too.

A bug is never “just a bug” to a child. 🐞

It’s a chance to slow down, observe, ask questions and discover the incredible little world right beneath their feet.

When we rush children past these moments, we miss some of the richest learning opportunities nature has to offer.

The next time your child stops to look at a tiny creature… stay a little longer. Their curiosity is leading the way.

What’s the most interesting bug your child has discovered? Share in the comments!

"Play is the highest form of research." — Albert Einstein 🌿

Children don't need every moment filled with lessons, classes, or activities. Through play, they experiment, create, problem-solve, connect, and learn about the world around them.

Play isn't a break from learning. Play is learning. 💚

Kids don't need expensive equipment or elaborate set-ups. 🌿

A patch of dirt, a few shovels, some diggers, and a child's imagination are often more than enough.

As they dig, scoop, pour, build, and create, they're developing problem-solving skills, strengthening fine and gross motor skills, learning about the natural world, and engaging in rich imaginative play.

Sometimes, the simplest play experiences offer the richest learning.

What's your child's favourite simple way to play outdoors? 💚

In a world where children's schedules are becoming busier and busier, it's easy to forget that some of the most important learning happens when we simply let them play.

Free play builds confidence, creativity, resilience, problem-solving skills, and independence. It gives children the space to imagine, explore, take risks, get messy, and discover the world in their own way.

Sometimes, the best thing we can give our children isn't another class or activity—it's time, nature, and the freedom to just be kids.
What are your favourite childhood memories? I bet many of them began with the words... "We just played." 💚

Our little bush baby has arrived!

On Sunday morning, we welcomed our newest member to the Play on Earth family. Mum and bub are both doing well, and our hearts are so full.

You won't see me around at playgroup for the rest of this term while I soak up these early days, but my big boys will still be popping in most weeks, and our wonderful guides, Rachel and Michelle, will be leading our playgroups with all the warmth, care and fun that make Play on Earth so special. I know they'll do an amazing job.

Thank you for all the love and support from our beautiful community. We look forward to seeing you all again next term.

With love,
Jess & our newest little bush baby
