📊 Fixed Range Volume Profile: Balancing the Books

When prices move they leave behind a story, a profile.

The Fixed Range Volume Profile is a tool that lets us zoom in on a chosen section of price action and see where trading activity really happened.

Why is this powerful? Because markets often aim to “balance the books.”

High-volume areas = strong support/resistance zones where lots of business was done.

Low-volume gaps = thinly traded regions where price can move quickly to “fill in the blanks.”

Retracements often serve the purpose of balancing this profile, coming back to fill gaps, test key levels, and establish fair value across the range.

Understanding this helps traders anticipate movement, spot resistance, and position themselves with greater clarity.

It’s not just about lines on a chart, it’s about reading the market’s ledger, balancing price with volume.

📊 Volume Profile in Action

In the chart below, the volume profile on the left shows activity from the swing low to the swing high.
The volume profile in the middle highlights the current retracement.

Notice how the retracement profile is starting to fill in the gaps left behind by the previous move. This is the market “balancing the books”, building volume where there was little before.

Looking at this chart with the retracement volume filling in most of the profile gaps, do you think price is more likely to go up 📈 or down 📉 from here?

Here’s a Deep Dive Into SUI for Your Viewing Pleasure.

It’s a new month so we get a new monthly candle. Keeping an eye out for big moves for big money to stock up and trap traders before the bigger trending move. September is typically bearish but this first move might indicate times and tides are changing. Keeping entries to key levels to avoid any sudden moves against me chipping away at capital.

Still have one more Daily FVG below price. Half expecting it to get down there before the next big move. Come a long way down just to leave it be.

One Coin, One Trade, One Hour a Day.

Cracking result this evening as we headed towards the end of the UK Session. Was a bit choppy at the open of a new 4H candle but once it moved, it moved quick.

Closed the position as momentum slowed due to it being a news event and we could’ve given it back just as fast.

Tapped out a smidge over $1500AUD up within 30 mins of opening it. 1:7 Risk:Reward. Good trade, solid result.

I’ve been crazy busy lately so have only traded 3 of the last 8 days. Account is up over $3100 or 62% since the 3rd of August, thanks in part to my mad skills and switching over to CoinM to let the rising market compound my trading wins.

Its done the job so more on that in a day or so. For now though, its bedtime for me, back into it to later today.

One Coin - One Trade - One Yiros

No trading for me on Tuesday as I was focussing on other things and hadn’t identified ideal entry levels and set alerts. I had thrown plenty of good money at bad entries over the years while I was learning how to trade properly so I prefer to play the waiting game nowadays instead and getter much better results for it.

Back into it again yesterday. Opened this trade while I was having a late lunch at H Hotel on Mitchell. By the time I finished my Yiros and walked to Knuckey St I was up over $500.

Tightened the stop loss when I got home, got tapped out but closed the trade up $580.

It’s a tough gig but someone’s gotta do it.

Might as well be you too.

Nice Little Move Between the FVG’s for SUI This Arvo. Went From Buy Side Liquidity Up Into Sell Side Not Long After The Open of UK.

What Happens Here Could Be The Difference In Price Hitting Previous HOD or Heading Back Down to The H4 FVG Below.

Difference In Outcomes Is Chalk And Cheese, Unless You’re Shorting It Then You Might Be Alright. Could Get Bumpy Otherwise.
