With enrolments offers starting up next month, we are sharing our 2027 timetable for families to start making note of classroom/preschool preferences.

QDPA offer a mix of 2 and 3 day programs across our four preschools - some classes do fill up quickly, so we encourage families to have a couple of options ready in case your first option has been taken.

Just a reminder, once you have secured a spot with QDPA, we do not do swaps or changes to other classes or preschools.

It is with mixed emotions that we share some important news regarding our Karabar Preschool community.

After more than 20 years of dedicated service, Miss Jenny has made the decision to retire from her role as Teaching Director at the end of this year.

For over two decades, Miss Jenny has been the heart of Karabar Preschool, touching the lives of countless children, families and educators. Her passion for early childhood education, unwavering commitment to children, and genuine care for every family who has walked through our doors have helped shape Karabar Preschool into the special place it is today.

While we are incredibly excited for Miss Jenny as she embarks on this well-deserved new chapter, we know many families will share our sadness in seeing such a valued and much-loved educator leave the service. Her impact on our preschool community is immeasurable, and we are deeply grateful for the knowledge, leadership and warmth she has brought to Karabar over the years.

To ensure a smooth transition, we will commence recruitment as soon as possible. Our priority is to find the right person to continue Miss Jenny's legacy of excellence and to provide ample time for a comprehensive handover process throughout 2027 planning and into the final months of this year.

Over the coming months, we will share opportunities for families and children to celebrate Miss Jenny's extraordinary contribution and thank her for the lasting difference she has made to so many lives.

Please join us in congratulating Miss Jenny on this remarkable milestone and thanking her for over 20 years of dedication to the children, families and community of Karabar Preschool.

🌊🖤💛❤️ Sea of Hands – Reconciliation Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤🌊

Yesterday, our QDPA community gathered together for a special Sea of Hands event as part of National Reconciliation Week, creating an opportunity to reflect, learn, and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We were honoured to welcome Deputy Mayor Esma Livermore, who delivered a beautiful Acknowledgement of Country and shared with the children the significance of the Sea of Hands. This led to thoughtful discussions about the Aboriginal Flag and the meaning behind its colours, providing valuable opportunities for learning, reflection, and connection.

A special thank you to Blak Bean Coffee & Catering for another delicious morning tea, and to Embrace Disability Group for the flowing hot chocolates and coffee for the children, staff and guests.

Thank you to the families who joined us for this special event, and to our wonderful staff and children for actively engaging in the experience with curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm.

As we continue our reconciliation journey, we acknowledge that every conversation, every shared experience, and every act of learning helps us move towards a more inclusive, respectful, and connected future.

Proud to help bring colour and connection to one of Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association's preschools down in Karabar, NSW.

Featuring artwork by Marrawuy Journeys, the design reflects community, families, educators, and children coming together in a shared journey towards reconciliation.

These protective pads were brought to life by our incredibly talented team, with a focus on durability, quality, and safety.

Another busy school holiday period with some amazing projects being completed.

Karabar Preschool had the children's bathroom renovated - it is now not only beautiful, but a safe space for children with substantial increases in practical storage as well! Thank you AllRise Building & Construction Pty Ltd for yet another fabulous project.

Mura Preschool was successful in some additional funding through the Disability and Inclusion Program to have a ramp built in the outdoor space. Thank you to the team at Residential Retreats for the stunning ramp and additional grass spaces in the playground.

Harris Park Pre-school had a new cubby house and climbing fort built as well as an upgrade to the yarning circle, replacing rotted logs with these beautiful sandstone blocks. Thanks again to retreats for getting the sandstone blocks in at such short notice before the children are back on Monday.

Here at QDPA, we take our commitment to child safety seriously, and environmental modifications are just one of the ways we ensure the paramountcy of children are our first priority!
