π Have you rung the bell at Kangaroo Valley Public School?
For our Year 6 students, ringing the school bell is much more than marking the start or end of the dayβitβs a proud tradition and a symbol of the unique leadership opportunities that come with being one of our senior students.
At KVPS, every student has the chance to grow as a leader. Through our leadership program, students build confidence, initiative and responsibility by:
πΉ Running school assemblies
πΉ Leading morning fitness sessions
πΉ Supporting our youngest students as Kindergarten buddies
πΉ Helping in the canteen
πΉ Representing our school at ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services
πΉ And, of course, taking their turn ringing the school bell.
These everyday opportunities help our students develop the skills, confidence and character that will serve them well both at school and beyond.
At Kangaroo Valley Public School, leadership isnβt reserved for a select fewβitβs something every student has the opportunity to experience. ππ

When you come through the front gate at Kangaroo Valley Public School, the first thing you see is our beautiful grounds. There are big trees everywhere, school chickens walking around the playground, and often wombats and kangaroos! ππ¦
We have a brand new sports court and playground for students to enjoy. There are lots of open spaces for everyone to play, relax and explore. Our school grounds are a special place, full of nature and fun.

Thursdays are always a highlight at Kangaroo Valley Public School as our much-loved Kindergarten and Year 6 Buddy sessions bring smiles, laughter and wonderful learning opportunities for everyone involved. ππ
Our Year 6 students take great pride in supporting, encouraging and caring for their Kindergarten buddies, helping them build confidence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging within our school community. From reading together and playing games to completing fun learning activities, these special sessions create memories that last well beyond the classroom.
For our Kindergarten students, having a caring Year 6 buddy helps make school feel like a welcoming and safe place. For our Year 6 students, itβs an opportunity to develop leadership, responsibility and empathy as they become positive role models for our youngest learners.
These connections are one of the many things that make our small school so special. β€οΈ

Itβs always wonderful to see the many different ways our students spend their break times at KVPS. Whether theyβre playing games, creating adventures, building, exploring or simply spending time with friends, there is always plenty of imagination, initiative and smiling faces around our playground.
This morning, a group of students busily prepared their own garden bed in the playground. They proudly explained that they had already collected seeds from the Post Office Seed Library and planned to plant them at recess!
Itβs these moments that make our school such a special place. We canβt wait to see what grows from their efforts! π±πΌ
