Keely Hinchliffe is one of our literature legends at EGC and this year has also taken on the role of Teaching Quality Coordinator.

I’ve been teaching English at EGC for the past four years and currently teach Foundation, General and ATAR English, supporting students across a range of learning pathways to achieve their best. I joined EGC in 2022, after previously working in the mining industry while studying at university.
I’m most proud of the life I’ve built here in Kalgoorlie, being close to family and appreciating the little moments along the way and I'm most excited about the opportunity to travel more and experience new places around the world in the future.
My favourite EGC value is ‘Achievement and Empowerment’ because I enjoy playing a small role in helping students grow and succeed. It’s incredibly rewarding to see former students go on to achieve amazing things beyond school.

We are so lucky to have such a motivated and passionate educator as part of our EGC community!

After a successful morning of competition yesterday, our EGC Robotics Challenge team were invited to compete in the Alliance, narrowly missing out on a final spot. We’re super proud of their efforts, finishing up 20th overall. Just a reminder for parents to make sure your on time for pick up at the train station.

Our Robotics Challenge team have hit the ground running!

Today they’re working on adjustments and improvements on the robot physically as well as refining their coding, ready for a big day of competition tomorrow.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to spend quality time engaging and learning alongside engineers and Curtin uni student mentors.

Good Luck team EGC!

What's the story behind Kalgoorlie-Boulders water? 💧

Our Year 12 Geography students set out earlier this week to find out!

Joined by Water Corporation’s Jack at Mount Charlotte, students discovered that Kalgoorlie-Boulder uses a staggering 15–30 million litres of potable water every day.

They explored the massive Binduli Reservoir, with its 400 million litre capacity, then followed the story of the Golden Pipeline through historic pipes and pump stations.

The highlight? Karalee Rocks, where students saw how water was collected more than 123 years ago, long before the Golden Pipeline existed.

A fascinating day connecting Geography, history and the incredible scale of our water supply! 💧
