As mentioned in the shared press release. Anyone who has been in the Perth and Peel Regions since the 17th of April "must follow the stay at home instructions".
This unfortunately includes our cadets who attended the recent State Cadet Camp and they will sadly not be able to attend the ANZAC Day Service tomorrow morning. The updated advice no longer simply requires a mask, but requires the cadets to lock down.
This is our WA COVID-19 update for Saturday, 24 April 2021.
Two new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in WA.
One new case is a returned overseas traveller in hotel quarantine.
The other new case, recorded late today, is a person in the community who had attended one of the locations visited by the confirmed COVID-19 Victorian case, and the related local case.
Note: the one local case of a woman who was the close contact of the Victorian man, which we included in our update yesterday evening, has been officially counted in today’s numbers.

- Lockdown -
Perth and Peel are now in a short three-day lockdown until 12.01am, Tuesday, April 27.
Stay home, except for these four reasons, or in an emergency:
- work because you can’t work from home or remotely;
- shopping for essentials like groceries, medicine and necessary supplies;
- medical or health care needs including compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable; and
- exercise with a maximum of four people, limited to one hour per day, and masks must be worn (except for vigorous exercise).
- Masks -
Masks are mandatory over the three-day lockdown for Perth and Peel residents.
If you were in Perth or Peel anytime from Saturday 17th April and have since travelled to other regions, you must follow the stay at home directions and wear a mask in public.
Over the short three-day lockdown, you must wear a face mask unless you’re in your home, in your car with people you live with, or doing vigorous exercise. Masks are not necessary for children under 12.
- COVID Testing -
If you are unwell, more than ever you need to stay home and get tested if you’re symptomatic.

- Venues which have closed -
The following facilities within the Perth and Peel regions are now closed for the duration of the lockdown:
- Pubs, bars and clubs, except for takeaway.
- Barbers and beauty salons;
- Gyms and indoor sporting venues – no community sport is permitted;
- Playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor recreational facilities;
- Cinemas, entertainment venues, and casinos;
- Large religious gatherings and places of worship; and
- Libraries and cultural institutions.
The following restrictions will apply for the lockdown period:
- People can enter Perth and Peel only to access or deliver essential health and emergency services and other essential requirements, or returning residents.
- Restaurants, cafes or pubs, to provide takeaway service only;
- No visitors to hospitals or residential aged care or disability facilities, unless there are exceptional circumstances;
- Weddings and Funerals will be permitted – however, they will be limited to a 100 patron capacity, not including staff, and masks must be worn; this will be the ONLY exemption for restaurants and other event locations.
