Hey Elizabeth 👋
What inspired you to become an early childhood educator?
I think it is in my genetics; my grandmother was a nanny, and lots of my family have worked with children.

How long have you been in this industry for?
I have been in early childhood for 38 years

Why do you love being part of Junee kids?
Knowing I am making a difference in children's lives and supporting the community I live in means the world to me .

What's your go-to trick for calming a busy classroom? whispering, as soon as you start, the children follow.

What is the one thing you always find in your pockets at the end of the day?
Tissues wrapped in a glove, I hate runny noses. 😁

What advice would you give to new parents ?
You will get lots of advice and recommendations as a new parent. Just remember, something is only an issue when it is an issue for you, not when it's an issue for others.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start in early childhood?
I would tell them early childhood is hard work, there is paperwork involved, messy clothes and p**p, but the rewards of working with little people and seeing your impact on a child as they grow is the most rewarding feeling in the world.

All rooms, Kal covers lunches and programming and gets to be apart of all ages.

How long have you been employed with Junee Kids: over 2 years

What is your favourite thing about the industry:
the connection with children working at such a good facility, and always getting good snacks.

What is your favourite messy play activity? Playdough

What do you like to do when you're not at work? gardening and swimming

If you could advise anyone wanting to start in the industry, what would it be?
Flexible hours, work hard, and you can get a wonderful feeling of belonging.

Did you know? Kalpana travels every day from Cootamundra to work at Junee Kids. That shows her dedication and commitment. She brings such a warm energy and friendly smile. We have loved watching her grow into such a familiar face at Junee Kids.

🚑 JUNEE KIDS AMBULANCE VISIT 🚑

Last week we had one of our mums visit the centre with her ambulance.
The children in the Bunya Pines, Eucalyptus explorers and our wattle Wonders got the chance to have a look through a real ambulance.
We got to experience what it's like to lay on the bed and be a patient, sit on the chair the ambulance officers sit on when they are looking after a patient and some of us even got to sit up the front and look out the windscreen.
We saw the lights on top of the ambulance and learnt why the officers have to use the sirens sometimes.

✨ 🌼Over the weekend, our outdoor play area received a thorough deep clean and tidy-up, ready for another week of fun and learning! 🌿✨

We know how much children love exploring, digging, and creating in the sandpit, and with all that wonderful play can come a little mess. Regular deep cleans help us maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment while keeping our outdoor spaces organised and enjoyable for everyone.

Children thrive when they have beautiful spaces to play, discover, and let their imaginations run free. We love taking the extra step to ensure our little learners have the best environment to grow, explore, and make happy memories every day. 💛
