Kids grading group 2 - Congratulations 🥳 Heath, Toby and Mia on your new achievement. This month we had a very detailed technique and they were able to demonstrate, which means how great is to keep consistency in the training. Also we will keep asking them to take notes about the technique, this way they will be able perform their technique better and appoint the mistakes. Keep up the great work kids!

🥋 BUILT WITH PURPOSE. BUILT TO LAST.

A few years ago, we made one of the biggest investments in our academy — our sprung mat system.

It wasn’t just a renovation.

It was a huge project that required time, hard work, planning, and the help of many people who gave their time and skills to make it happen.

To everyone who helped us along the way — thank you.
This wouldn’t have been possible without you. 🖤💛

For us, investing in our mats was about much more than making the gym look better.

It was about investing in our students.

A properly designed sprung mat system provides additional shock absorption and helps reduce the impact on the body during takedowns, falls, drilling and countless hours of training.

And when you’re training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu week after week, year after year, the surface you train on matters.

It also means building a training environment designed for the long term — durable, professional and capable of handling thousands of hours on the mats.

Because at GFTeam Joondalup, we don’t want to simply provide a place to train.

We want to provide a place where people can train safely, consistently and for many years to come.

Looking back at the renovation now, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and helped make it happen.

The mats have changed.
The gym has grown.
But the purpose remains the same.

🖤💛 MORE THAN JIU-JITSU

Today was one of those days that reminds us why we love what we do.

A great training session, followed by food, laughs, conversations and time together around the BBQ. 🥋🔥

Because Jiu-Jitsu isn’t only about what happens on the mats.

It’s about the people beside us.

The friendships we build.
The support we give each other.
The families that become part of our community.
The moments we share outside of training.

We can train hard, chase goals and celebrate victories — but sometimes the best thing we can do is simply slow down and enjoy being together as a team.

This is what we want GFTeam Joondalup to be.

A place where people train together, grow together and belong.

What a great Saturday we had today at GFTeam Joondalup. We trained and had some rolls in our usual Saturday class, also two great guys have been promoted. Steve Von Paleske Steve to BROWN BELT and Parsa Nasab Parsa to BLUE BELT. And of course we had to celebrate with an amazing BBQ! Thank you everyone who came to participate, everyone who stayed after training and everyone involved in to make this happen. It was a great way to get together and spend some time with the team! We coach because we believe Jiu-Jitsu is about more than creating champions.

We want to create better people.

Our values aren’t just words on a wall.

Kids 1 - 5yo to 7yo - Ewan and Xander did a great job yesterday in class, drilling the technique of the month step by step. Showing that they got the details and can demonstrate very well. That shows dedication, focus in class and understanding of what the Coach is teaching. They are being in the present and taking the most out of the lesson. Congratulations 🥳 boys and parents! We are fortunate enough to have great kids on the mats 🙏🏻
