This week, we're stepping outside the rooms and shining the spotlight on a very important member of our Sagewood team — our Operations Manager, Tara 🩶🧡

QA1 Educational program and practice-Book Week📚

Last week, we celebrated the magic of Book Week with a wonderful week full of stories, creativity and imagination!

Our children had so much fun dressing up as their favourite characters and bringing the stories they love to life. We explored story-inspired sensory trays, creating opportunities for the children to engage their senses, explore, imagine and connect with familiar stories. 🎨📖

A special highlight was welcoming our families into our learning environment to share their child’s favourite book with all the children.
It was so lovely to see our families involved in our Book Week celebrations and to share the joy of reading together.

Thank you to all our wonderful families for helping make Book Week such a memorable and magical experience! 🧡🩶

Quality Area 1 - Educational Program and Practice

🌼Exploring Djilba – The Season of the Banksia 🌼

As we explore the Nyungar season of Djilba, the children discovered one of the beautiful native flowers associated with this time of year — the Banksia. 🌿

The children used their senses to explore the different textures, feeling the flowers and leaves and noticing the unique shapes and surfaces. We then explored the colour yellow, which is associated with Djilba, and the children created their own interpretations of the season through art. 💛🎨

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and celebrate the beauty of Country through creativity and sensory learning. 🌿💛

QA2 Children’s health and safety

What a joy to see our children making the most of these beautiful sunny winter days! ☀️❄️
The other day, they had so much fun playing hopscotch together—jumping, balancing, taking turns, and cheering each other on!

Hopscotch is not only lots of fun, but also a great way to support gross motor development. The jumping and balancing movements help children build strength, coordination, balance, body awareness, and control of their larger muscles. 🤸‍♀️

Learning through active play makes every sunny day a wonderful opportunity to grow, move and have fun together! 🌿
