The Parents & Collegians Auxiliary is excited to continue hosting our popular Networking Events during 2022. Due to current restrictions our first event will be held online.
PCA Networking events provide a forum for parents, alumni, students, and members of our local business community to generate opportunities and provide connections and support within our school community.
This is a great opportunity for parents, students, collegians and other members of the LJBC Community to connect with each other from far and wide. We hope to grow our community, build relationships across our community and generate opportunities for meaningful connections.
We warmly invite parents, guardians, grandparents, collegians, staff, and students in Years 10-12 to join us for this FREE online event.

Students, staff, collegians and parents enjoyed breakfast catered and professionally served by Year 11 Cert II Hospitality students. Guest speaker and collegian Amber Merritt (Class of 2010) inspired the group with her story on life as an elite athlete and Paralympian (wheelchair basketball).

“Morning Chaleen! Only found out the other day that one of the CBH Group casuals we have working out in our area in Ballidu is Shay Mortimore, who graduated this year. Gonna go out today and try get a photo with him.” Past student Nick Robinson sent this message through early this morning.
Nick also wants to encourage our pasts and present students to have a look at CBH for casual work.

And the winner is.....Samuel Rawlings - PCA Outstanding Collegian for 2020

Samuel’s interest in the brain started with competing in the
Brain Bee Competition in Year 10. Currently, Samuel is
undertaking research to look into the effects of the light head
impacts such as that seen within soccer players using their
head to direct the ball. Dr Andrew Lavender from the
Federation University of Australia writes: “Samuel is one of
the best of the top students and produced work in his
Physiotherapy Honours project that resulted in multiple
publications. Samuel’s article titled “Repeated Long-Term
Sub-Concussion Impacts Induce Motor Dysfunction in Rats”
was published in Frontiers in Neurology. Samuel also
published an article titled “Effects of sub-concussion on
neuropsychological performance and its potential
mechanisms" in the Brain Research Bulletin.

Samuel intends to strengthen the connection between the
College and its Collegians. He is also planning to present a
talk about the brain to our Year 12 students.

The $2 500 Award will go towards data analysis,
presentation and statistical analysis software. The financial
support of the award would allow Samuel to conduct the next
stage of his project with the most effective and efficient
methods of analysis.

The PCA Networking Event took place earlier today. The turnout was excellent with 57 tickets sold. We had past students, parents, students, staff, grandparents, community leaders and our keynote speaker attend this event at Joondalup Sports Club.

A past student is making a difference in the community!

This is so inspiring to read! Nick Robinson or "Robbo" and his mates decided to clean a section of Moore River, earlier this year. It was entirely their own decision and not part of any project or initiative. They were named "local heroes" by a gentleman, who spotted the young fellas.
