Hello,
It is not always easy to find suitable readers or texts for students. There are a lot of scheme books and decodable sets (at a cost). Or you can have a go at writing your own especially tailored for the students you are working with. This means that you can include words they know already, can decode using phonics learned and still maintain interest.

I use a Multisensory approach based on Orton-Gillingham research which is appropriate for students of any age who may be having difficulty learning to read, write and spell with accuracy and fluency. MSL is an intensive, explicit phonics approach for students who have the kinds of language processing problems associated with dyslexia. MSL is not a commercially produced programme or scheme, but a direct phonics approach which is flexible and tailored to the individual or a small group of student’s needs.
Approved by SPELD WA as a recognised intervention for dyslexia.

An MSL approach builds confidence through experiencing a high level of success and learning becomes a rewarding and happy experience.

High school students with Dyslexia need to have 'accomodations' made to assist their learning especially in written tasks and assessments. See below and I'm sure there are more than these:-

· Require extra time for examinations
· Obtain audio books or digital texts
· Speech recognition software to dictate and automatically converts
to text
· Spell checkers
· Movie version of novels that are being studied
· Preview reading to identify words you are unable to pronounce
accurately
· Talk through content with teacher or tutor
· Laptop if handwriting is a slow process
· Prepare a short oral response rather than instant response to
questions
· Reduced homework assignments
· Work should be graded on content not spelling in creative writing

Writing stories for students which include a lot of decodables and that they enjoy. BFD (Big Friendly Dog).

An MSL lesson engages the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic senses of the learner. VAK
