So frustrating.
I’ve never even seen Brucey use a jig saw but he thinks he’s better at it. I pride myself on cutting stuff accurately. Have a look at it I cut the bloody line in half but noooo still not good enough for Brucey Da boss.

25/08/2026

Brucey Da boss has been quiet but today was the day, I knew it was coming. Roasted for having too much time off told to tidy the joint up and warned if I’m not ready for this weekend’s markets I’ll be looking for another job.
Don’t know why he so unhappy he didn’t do anything while I was away. 😫

We have some Buloke in stock. Density = weight and it is noticeably heavier then our local hardwoods.
If your interested in having a look at some Buloke I will dress a bit and take it to Nabiac and Laurieton markets next weekend.
Brain has added a clip of the tree in comments if you’d like to see what they look like.

The Australian bull-oak (Allocasuarina luehmannii) is officially the world’s hardest commercially available wood, boasting a staggering 5,060 lbf on the Janka hardness scale. To put that into perspective, it is nearly four times harder than standard red oak and easily surpasses even traditional heavyweights like African blackwood and ebony. This extreme density means the timber is literally heavier than water—a solid piece will plunge straight to the bottom rather than float—earning it an almost metallic reputation in the timber world.

Working with bull-oak is a true test of endurance, often dulling steel blades within minutes and throwing actual sparks when met with high-speed cutting tools. Beyond its sheer, nearly impenetrable armor against termites and decay, the wood features a breathtaking "lace" or "leopard" grain pattern created by massive, radiating medullary rays. While early Australian settlers relied on it for indestructible wagon wheel spokes and fence posts, modern artisans prize it for virtually indestructible luxury knife handles, acoustic instruments, and high-end specialty turnery.

Still a bit to do on this one, once finished it will make a nice vanity basin, fruit bowl or something. I’m trying a new technique on the perimeter of this burl, almost looks like it’s melting over the edge.

The trip is over loved the drive, along the way you have plenty of time to think about stuff. I realised it was pretty empty in there 🧠 so lucky for me there was plenty of storage left. Now my brain it’s full of new ideas that I’m keen make happen.
