BREAKING:
Queensland children will learn from home for the first five weeks of Term 2.
Our teachers and staff will do everything they can to ensure students are still provided a quality education from home.
Here’s what parents/carers need to know:
🔹 Children of essential workers & vulnerable children can attend school where they’ll be taught by their regular classroom teachers
🔹 Staff will continue to work from the classroom
🔹 Schools will talk directly with students and their parents/carers about how and when they will receive learning materials and teacher feedback
🔹 For children who don’t have a laptop at home, schools can loan them devices
🔹 We’ve worked with Telstra to secure more than 5000 sim cards to make sure students without internet connectivity can access online resources
🔹 An announcement on the plan for the remainder of Term 2 will be made in mid-May
It’s also important to note that the Chief Health Officer has updated the testing criteria for COVID-19.
It now includes those who have a fever or respiratory problems and work in schools, childcare centres & boarding houses.
