⛷️ Snow Australia State Interschools Snowsports Championships 🏂

Last week, 77 Jindabyne Public School students proudly represented our school at the State Interschools Snowsports Championships. It was three days of fun in the sun, with students competing across both ski and snowboard events at Perisher.

Our students represented JPS with distinction, not only through their results, but through the sportsmanship, resilience and respect they demonstrated before, during and after their events. We are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout the competition.

🏆 JPS was crowned the Top Public School in the State and finished 2nd overall in the Co-ed Primary School category. What an outstanding achievement!

We are also excited to have 53 students progressing to the Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships next week. We wish all our competitors the very best as they take on the next stage of the competition!

A huge thank you to our students, parents, teachers, administrative staff and volunteers for their support and for helping make this event possible. 👏

Congratulations to all our students on an incredible effort!

While some of our students are hitting the slopes, our At School Program students are keeping the fun going right here at Jindabyne Public School!

From movie making and cooking, to getting creative with art and learning the basics of golf, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

⛷️ Our 2026 Snowsports Program is Underway! 🏂

Yesterday marked the exciting start of our 2026 Jindabyne Public School Snowsports Program, with students heading to the slopes for the first of many fantastic days on the snow!

Living in the unique environment of the Snowy Mountains gives our students the incredible opportunity to learn and grow in one of Australia's most extraordinary outdoor classrooms. From first-time skiers and snowboarders to those continuing to build their skills, our Snowsports Program encourages confidence, resilience, perseverance and a love of the alpine environment.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, volunteers and families who help make this program possible each year. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store!

Here's to another amazing year on the slopes! ❄️

Jindabyne Gauans Jindabyne Yonkas

Our Stage 3 debating teams have represented our school with confidence and skill throughout the first four rounds of the Premier's Debating Challenge, competing against schools from across the region, from the Snowy Mountains to Queanbeyan. Students have worked hard to prepare persuasive arguments and have debated a range of topics relating to education and issues affecting young people. Our Gauans team has recorded one win along with three very close contests, while the Yonkas have had an outstanding campaign, winning all four debates to remain undefeated. We are incredibly proud of the effort, teamwork and resilience shown by both teams and look forward to cheering on the Yonkas as they compete at Zone level next!

🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC Week at Jindabyne Public School ❤️💛🖤

As NAIDOC Week continues to be celebrated across Australia this week, we'd like to reflect on another special part of our Term 2 celebrations.

Our students came together for a special NAIDOC assembly before taking part in a Gallery Walk, where each stage showcased a decorated learning hub highlighting key events, influential Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and significant milestones from the past 50 years of NAIDOC.

The Gallery Walk created a vibrant timeline that celebrated this year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," while recognising 50 years of NAIDOC. Throughout the week, each stage also shared information over the PA system, helping students learn more about the people, stories and events that have shaped each decade.

From music and library lessons to hands-on cultural experiences, students engaged in meaningful learning that deepened their understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and achievements.

Thank you to our dedicated staff and students for creating such thoughtful displays and helping make our NAIDOC Week celebrations so meaningful.
