𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀. 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲. 🌱

That's the theme that tied together another awesome evening at 𝗝𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 this week.

In just one meeting, we travelled from personal stories of self-improvement, to the mystery of coincidence, to the surprising politics behind Prosecco (yep, the w**e!), and finished with a powerful reminder that one of the greatest gifts we can give another person is our 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Every speech was different. Every speaker brought something uniquely their own.

One of the night's highlights was welcoming our newest member as he delivered his 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 - a heartfelt story about his journey so far and his commitment to becoming a better communicator. Ice Breaker speeches are a great way to get to know our members and it was a lovely reminder that everyone starts somewhere.

And when an unexpected change to the program popped up, one of our members stepped in at a moment's notice and turned our impromptu speaking session into one of the most enjoyable parts of the evening. That's Toastmasters in a nutshell: supportive, encouraging, and fun 😊

If you've been thinking about becoming more confident speaking at work, in meetings, or just in everyday life, why not come along and see what it's all about?

Last night at Jimboomba Toastmasters, we explored the theme of Time — and what a night it was.

Ajay took the helm for his second time as Toastmaster, guiding the meeting with confidence, warmth, lots of interesting facts about Time.

We enjoyed four wonderful, at times moving speeches, with three centred around the power of mentoring. Members shared heartfelt stories of being guided, supported, and shaped — and in Rod’s case, a hilarious look at moments where good mentoring definitely would’ve helped. The room loved it.

Natalia shared her cake‑making and decorating journey, reminding us how time, patience, and creativity blend into something beautiful.

Leanne brought us in close with a touching tribute to her grandmother, weaving memories that made the room pause and reflect.

Beth spoke about her mentor Kevin, who showed her she was absolutely the right person for the job — a powerful reminder of how belief from others can change our direction.

Bonnie stepped up with fantastic Table Topics tied perfectly to the theme, keeping everyone thinking fast and laughing often. And Tony kept us running right on time, as always.

A night full of connection, laughter, reflection — and the magic that happens when people grow together.

✨ Our next meeting is on 26 August — we’d love to see you there.

🎤 One speech at our last meeting might genuinely save someone's life.

One of our members completed a persuasive speaking project with a simple message:

"Just do it."

Not buy the shoes.

Complete your bowel cancer screening test.

Sharing his own dramatic experience with bowel cancer, he mixed humour, honesty and vulnerability to encourage others not to put off something that could make all the difference.

It was a powerful reminder that communication isn't just about giving speeches.

Sometimes it's about saying something that changes the way people think... or inspires them to take action.

That's what we love about Toastmasters.

It's a place where ordinary people become more confident communicators, tell meaningful stories, and discover that their words can have a real impact.

If you'd like to build your confidence and become a more effective communicator, why not come along as our guest?

You don't need any experience, and your first visit is free.

📍 The next meeting of Jimboomba Toastmasters is this Wednesday (12th August) at Dorrington House, next to Rotary Park on Johanna St, Jimboomba (opp police station). Arrive by 6:45pm for a 7pm start.

🌍 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸?

Our Travel themed meeting took us all around the world and even, according to one particularly creative answer, deep inside someone's own mind during meditation! 😄

It was another fantastic evening of laughter, learning and encouragement. We heard heartfelt stories, persuasive speeches that could genuinely save lives, welcomed our newest member, and were delighted to see guests jump straight in and enjoy the fun.

Even when a couple of last-minute changes meant we had to shuffle the program, our members quietly stepped up to help make the evening another great success. That's one of the things we love most about Jimboomba Toastmasters... everyone supports one another.

If you'd like to become more confident speaking at work, in social situations, or simply feel more comfortable expressing your ideas, why not come along and see what we're all about?

You don't need any experience, and there's absolutely no pressure to speak on your first visit. Just come along, enjoy the evening, and meet a friendly group of local people who are all learning together.

Next meeting is Wednesday 12th August.

👶 Sometimes the best speeches don't happen despite life's interruptions... they happen because of them.

This week at Jimboomba Toastmasters, one of our members delivered a moving speech while holding her baby in her arms.

She spoke honestly about the highs and lows of becoming a new mum in a speech called The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. In a lovely twist, she saved "The Good" until the very end, reminding us that even life's toughest moments often come with the greatest rewards.

That's one of the things we love about Toastmasters.

You don't need to be perfect.
You don't need to have it all together.
You don't need to be a polished public speaker.

You just need to be willing to grow.

Every meeting is filled with real people sharing real stories in a supportive, encouraging environment.

If you've ever wished you could speak with more confidence - whether at work, at weddings, in meetings, or simply in everyday conversations - we'd love to welcome you.

Guests are always welcome, and your first visit is free. Next meeting is Wed 12th Aug. Details at:
