Another great meeting last night under the watchful eye of Area Director Ridz Osman - whose presence meant we were on our best behaviour! We were pleased to welcome guests Claire and Heidi, members from other clubs. Speeches from Mike, Emma and Marty and an Educational from Emily.
Our regular fortnightly meeting is postponed for next fortnight, the next meeting will be on 10th June - look forward to seeing you there!

🍇✨ Jimboomba Toastmasters at the District 69 Convention! ✨🍇
Over the long weekend, Jimboomba Toastmasters was proudly represented at the District 69 Toastmasters Convention in Stanthorpe by three of our club champions:
President Leanne, Sgt‑at‑Arms Tony, and Marty, who took on the huge role of MC for the entire conference.
And what a conference it was.
The weekend delivered rock‑solid inspiration, brilliant guest speakers, and contests so tight they had everyone holding their breath. The energy, the learning, the laughter — it was everything a Toastmasters convention should be.
The highlight for many was the Gala Dinner, themed Red, White & Sparkling to honour the Granite Belt wine region. The room glittered, the glasses clinked, and the costumes were unforgettable.
A massive shout‑out to Marty, whose work as MC kept the entire event flowing with professionalism, humour, and heart. And of course to Tony and Leanne, who represented Jimboomba with pride, enthusiasm, and plenty of sparkle.
We’re bringing all that inspiration back home — ready for an even bigger, bolder year ahead.
Just a reminder, you are warmly invited to our next meeting of Jimboomba Toastmasters, which will be held on Wednesday night, the 22nd of April. It is sure to be an interesting night with Toastmaster for the evening, Beth, presenting the topic "Cooler days, warmer stories: A focus on storytelling".
Mike will present our Warm Up, while Marty will test everyone's impromptu speaking skills with Table Topics. Bonnie will introduce a word of the night as Grammarian, while we will also have the pleasure of hearing prepared speeches from Tony, Ajay and Lee.
Arrival is from 6.45pm for a 7pm start at Dorrington House, Johanna St, Jimboomba (opp police station).

Another great meeting last night. Early in the week the meeting was looking a bit skinny, but within 48 hours the competent team had a full meeting up and running. Mike showed his extensive Toastmaster experience and looked after the role of Toastmaster for the evening, Ajay ran an excellent Table Topics session, and there were many more highlights - too many to mention. Next meeting Wednesday 8 April - 6.45 for a 7.00pm start.

🤩 Well done and congratulations to our Jimboomba members who competed in speech contests at the Division Conference in Bulimba yesterday! It was tough competition - to reach the Division level, you must first win at club and Area levels so we're very proud of them!

A great night was had by all at the Jimboomba Toastmasters' 700th meeting! Thank you to Toastmaster Tony who also lit and kept the fire going and member Beth who brought her guitar along and played before the meeting and during the break. An excellent Table Topics segment from Bonnie at only her third meeting and a farewell speech from Tracey before she heads off for some overseas travel - we wish her a safe trip and look forward to her return. Life member Mike gave a speech outlining the history of the club and Emily brought along her new baby, Isaac! And a big thank you to our special guests: Eastern Division Director, Geoff Roberts; Daisy Hill Toastmasters member Terry; and former Jimboomba member Pat.
Next meeting is Wednesday 25th March.

Another great meeting last night although short on numbers. Hopefully attendance will pick up now the silly season is well and truly behind us. Next meeting (11th March) marks the club's 700th meeting and deserves a special occasion - watch this space!

Another great meeting last night, although we were a bit short on numbers. Notwithstanding, members happily jumped in to fill gaps at the last minute, meaning some members had three roles to carry out. The theme for the night was 'water', leading to many interesting facts and comments throughout the meeting. Stay tuned for the next meeting in a fortnight (Wednesday 25 February).
