We’re incredibly proud to share that our co-founder and Bee Education facilitator, Natasha Roebig, has been sponsored by AgriFutures Australia to participate in the Agribusiness Leadership Program delivered by the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation. 🐝💛
This opportunity will see Natasha further refine her leadership skills while building connections with some of Australia’s most respected leaders across agriculture and regional industries.
Natasha was awarded the prestigious AgriFutures Rural Women's Award for Queensland in 2019, recognising her work in creating pathways for women, youth, and the greater beekeeping industry. Her unique approach to apiary education “No Barriers to Beekeeping” has helped set a benchmark for beekeeping education in schools and communities, shaping inclusive learning experiences for people living with neurodivergence, PTSD, and mental health challenges.
Our entire team is incredibly proud of Natasha’s achievements and we’re excited to see the knowledge, leadership insights, and connections from this experience flow back into the work we do in education, beekeeping, and community engagement. We further extend our congratulations to Agribusiness peer Fiona Lacey who joins Natasha in this exciting leadership experience. Well done, Ladies 👏

Our Mayor Jon Raven recently shared with Channel 7 News the upcoming Logan City Council KRANK School Holiday highlights, including our popular 'Bee Workshops' and spots filled in a flash ⚡️
Once again, we cannot wait to fire up the bee smokers, spin some honey frames and get sticky tasting nature's golden honey with Logan's youth. 🐝🍯🌪
If you're wanting to join us we have plenty more workshops planned for the year. Please keep your eyes peeled 👀 for updates or visit the Logan City Council KRANK website for more info; https://www.logan.qld.gov.au/community/community-services-and-support/children-youth-families-seniors/krank
What makes our sessions unique is that they’re not just fun, they’re educational too. Participants get hands-on experiences while learning about bees, pollination, and why these incredible little pollinators are so important to our environment and food security. 🌼🍯

Inspiring the Next Generation of Beekeepers
It was an absolute honour to be a judge for this year’s Australian Youth Beekeeping competition. The quality of entries was nothing short of outstanding, the passion, knowledge and dedication from these young beekeepers gives me so much confidence for the future of our industry.
Honestly, separating the entries was no easy task!
As leaders in bee education through our BEES In Schools program, we see firsthand the impact that early engagement and hands-on learning can have, and this group of young people is a true reflection of what’s possible when we invest in the next generation.
A huge congratulations to Elan, Patrick and Josiah — an incredible achievement!
You will now go on to represent Australia at the IMYB - International Meeting of Young Beekeepers in Ireland
We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!

Natasha is incredibly proud to be serving as a judge for the Australian Youth Beekeeping (AYB) 2026 Team Selection this year, and wow what a team it is! 🐝
The calibre of entries from young beekeepers across Australia has been nothing short of astounding. Seeing the passion, knowledge, and dedication coming through from the next generation of beekeepers is both inspiring and reassuring for the future of our industry.
Through BEES In Schools, Natasha has seen firsthand how powerful bee education can be in shaping young minds and building the next generation of environmental custodians. Programs like these highlight why it is so important that bee education is delivered by qualified facilitators — people with both the practical beekeeping knowledge and the educational capability to safely and responsibly work with students.
From strong technical understanding to innovative ideas and a genuine commitment to bees, pollination, and biosecurity, these young beekeepers are already making their mark. It’s an honour to be part of the selection process supporting the future leaders of Australian beekeeping.
Well done to everyone who applied — the future of beekeeping in Australia is clearly in very capable hands.

We had a bee-utiful day celebrating the City of Logan Charitable Trust International Women’s Day this past Sunday at Club Noir Australia.
A big thank you to our very beautiful Mayoress Ali Raven for hosting such a wonderful event. It was lovely connecting with so many inspiring women (and the few men in the room proudly supporting us). The afternoon was filled with great speeches, delicious food by Logan Catering Co. and plenty of meaningful conversation.
We were also treated to beautiful gift bags to take home. A special thank you all of the sponsors and guest speakers, to Sue Ann Tysoe from Checkmate Pest Control and to Mick de Brenni for the delicious Sirromet red wine gift.
Events like this are a great reminder of the power of community, connection and lifting each other up. 🐝
Thank you,
Jason and Natasha 💛

🌿 Exciting News 🎉
I’m honoured to be joining the 2026 cohort of the Australian Agribusiness Leadership Program, alongside leaders from across Australian agriculture exploring the challenges shaping our agriculture and apiculture industries. This marks another huge step forward in growing and strengthening the foundations of our popular 'Bees In Schools' programs.
Since launching B.E.E.S In Schools in 2016, the first of its kind, our programs have taken root and continues to educate and inspire students and beekeepers alike. I look forward to using my sharpened leadership skills to further grow our innovative bee (native & honey bee) programs.
Thank you to the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation, I’m looking forward to learning alongside this incredible cohort and facilitators.
A heartfelt thank you to AgriFutures Australia for selecting and sponsoring me, continuing to support the growth of our inclusive bee education and leadership initiatives. In 2019, through the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award (QLD), I was recognised for my efforts in raising awareness to the importance of inclusive bee education, supporting neurodivergent learners, and providing a platform to help grow this space.
