We searched the garden for snails, carefully looking under leaves, around garden beds, and in shady spots. The children were excited to discover where the snails might be hiding and eagerly shared their findings. This experience encouraged curiosity, developed observation skills, and fostered an appreciation for the natural world and the small creatures that live within it.🐌🪲

⚽️🥅🤾⛹️‍♀️🤼Our sports session with coach Tim from TFT is filled with fun, laughter, and active learning. Through participating in sports, the children are developing a wide range of important skills including coordination, motor skills, social skills, confidence, independence, emotional regulation, healthy habits, listening skills, and the ability to focus on tasks. These engaging sessions encourage teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity while supporting each child’s overall growth and development.

What a great day. Thanks Jimboomba State School (Education Dept. Approved) for inviting us and hosting such a lovely event.

Building relationships with our local school.

Children at Jimboomba Community Kindergarten had SO much fun last week, joining the adjacent primary school for annual Under Eights Week celebrations. The jumping castle was a huge hit, and children and educators alike enjoyed coming together for this special shared community event. Excursions such as these also allow for Kindy children to have a visit to a "big school", helping to ease into this future transition with a great, positive experience.

Today our kindy friends became nature explorers during an exciting outdoor scavenger hunt! We put on our hats, grabbed our magnifying glasses, and searched carefully through the garden, under leaves, near the trees, and along the grass to see what tiny creatures we could find.

As we explored, the children showed wonderful curiosity, teamwork, and observation skills. We discovered busy ants marching in a line carrying food back to their nest. Some children spotted colourful butterflies fluttering from flower to flower, while others carefully watched a ladybug crawling along a leaf. Near the garden beds, we found wriggly worms hiding in the damp soil, and a speedy beetle zooming across the path surprised everyone!

The children were excited to compare the insects they found, talking about colours, sizes, wings, legs, and how the bugs moved. We practiced being gentle and respectful to living creatures by observing them carefully and returning them safely to their habitats.

Throughout the hunt, the children used descriptive language, counted insect legs, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their discoveries with friends. This experience supported early science learning, communication skills, problem-solving, and a growing appreciation for the natural world.
