Congratulations to Gianna who represented our school at the Regional Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition last week! 🌏

After progressing through the school and Zone levels, she delivered her speech on “Closing The Gap” with confidence, passion and pride, showcasing her excellent public speaking skills.

We are incredibly proud of Gianna’s achievement and the dedication she has shown throughout the competition. What a fantastic achievement! 👏🌟

A Fantastic Day at the Zone Athletics Carnival

On Friday 14th August, a large group of talented students from Jewells Primary School proudly represented our school at the Zone Athletics Carnival. Our students demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork and school spirit throughout the day. They were respectful, supportive of their peers and always showed great enthusiasm, whether competing, cheering from the sidelines or encouraging their teammates.

It was also an incredibly successful year for Jewells Primary School, with one of our highest numbers of students advancing through to the Regional Athletics Carnival and a high number very close to making this level. This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of the dedication, effort and perseverance demonstrated by our students.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Jewells Primary School. Congratulations to everyone who competed, supported their teammates and contributed to such a successful and memorable day!

At JPS, we encourage our students, staff, and community to check in with each other and ask, “R U OK?” Remember, you don’t need to be an expert to support someone going through a tough time. A listening ear and a caring heart can make all the difference.

🏆✨ Congratulations to our amazing Interschool Puzzle Club teams! ✨🏆

Last week, our team The Puzzling Power Pearls — Georgia, Myra, Jack, and Parker — showcased their incredible skills by securing 2nd place in the online primary school division across NSW! 🎉👏

Our other fantastic team, The Munchkins — Savannah, Leo, Ariana, and Mia — also did a fantastic job, finishing in 6th place. Well done to all our puzzlers, including those who joined us for fun and recreational puzzling! 🧩💡

We’re so proud of everyone’s teamwork, problem-solving, and enthusiasm. Keep up the great work, Puzzle Club! 💙

A Glance Into our Week - Koalas 🐨

What a wonderful week of learning in Koalas it has been!
In English, students compared the characters from our two focus texts, discussing their similarities and differences. In Mathematics, they explored how to add money, using a range of strategies including skip counting, counting on and ‘pretend and pop!’. In Science, students have enjoyed investigating the weather and learning how to read a thermometer and use a cloud frame. In PE, they have been developing their overarm throwing skills. In Art, students carefully coloured their dragon-carp and painted the background using sponges.
Koalas have certainly been busy learning and creating this week! 🌟
