📚 Book Week Australia is just around the corner, and it’s not too late to book a WellNessie visit! 🗓️

Created by two educators originally from Scotland, WellNessie brings stories, imagination and learning together through our collection of Nessie-inspired books. Students will discover the other “nessies” found around the globe through our three published books so far: KindNess, CleverNess and WilderNess, with more on the way soon! 🦕🌏

Whether you’re looking for an engaging whole-school assembly or a stage-based workshop, we have a range of options designed to suit your school’s needs.

You may know the Loch Ness Monster from Scotland, but did you know there are many “Nessies” to discover? That’s where we come in.

Hi, we’re Kaz and Marty - originally from Scotland, now based in Jervis Bay, Australia. We launched WellNessie in 2025, and now have bookings open for our storytelling workshops in 2026 and 2027 🗓️

A little about us: Kaz is a primary school teacher with over 10 years’ experience, and Marty is a science educator with a background in leadership and wellbeing.

Our visits are suitable for Preschool to Year 6, with workshops designed to engage a wide range of ages and support curriculum outcomes through storytelling, creativity, and wellbeing.

We currently offer three published stories:
KindNess, CleverNess, and WilderNess
(With CreativeNess and FitNess coming soon!)

We are so excited to announce that Term 3 enrolments are now live, and this term we have three courses available, our STEM and History & Philosophy courses, plus our brand new Storymaker course!

Our courses are designed for upper primary to lower secondary students, and because we’re fully online, your family can join us from anywhere in the world.

Your tutor, Dr Martin Hughes, is a scientist with nearly a decade of experience working alongside young people who have become disengaged with traditional education. His belief that every child deserves access to meaningful, inspiring learning is what brought WellNessie Academy to life.

Does your child learn a little differently? 💡
Have they struggled to find their place in a mainstream classroom? You’re not alone, and we’d genuinely love to hear from you.

A huge thank you to Tomerong Public School for having us today! We had such a wonderful time working with your students and being welcomed into your beautiful school community.

Did you know our workshops are designed for learners from preschool all the way through to Year 6?

Today, our littlest learners enjoyed learning more about what it means to be kind, Stage 2 explored drama techniques to learn how to bring KindNess to the stage, while Stage 3 stepped into the role of authors by exploring the language features of the text, then planned their very own adventure stories. So much creativity and imagination on display!

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to share what we do. Thank you again for having us!
