I have found the minutes of the public meeting seeking interest in having a preschool. I turned the page and there is the minutes of the inaugural preschool meeting. Such a memory. Mrs Milthorpe taught my daughter and I was on the then, auxiliary committee for 3 years. I have now been an assistant for the last 27 years. Our centre has a 51 year legacy. Thank you Dorothy. 💕

Hello to our Preschool community!
As most of you know, at the end of this week my time as Director of the Jerilderie Preschool comes to end. It has been an absolute pleasure to have had the opportunity to lead the amazing Educators that have been by my side, to care for and educate the youngest members of our community and build beautiful connections with the families I have met.
I am so excited to take a step back and focus on my true love, being with the children. I will be back 5 days a week leading our Preschool room from 9-3 and taking on the role of Educational Leader, overseeing the educational programs across the whole centre and liaising with staff in regard to their personal development. As Educational Leader I will sit alongside our 2 new Managers on the Management team.

Our new look management team….

We would love to announce to you our new Managers for the Jerilderie Early Learning Centre.

Welcome Michelle Laughton who has been appointed our centre Manager. Michelle holds her Diploma in Children’s Services and brings with her over 18 years experience in the Early Childhood sector. Michelle has been working with us at Preschool for some time now and we are so excited to see her step into this role.

We also welcome Fiona Edwards who has been appointed our Financial Manager. Fiona has been Preschool’s administration officer for the past 18 months and has been working in the administration sector for 14 years. We are also very excited that Fee has accepted this position.

Congratulations to both ladies on their new positions. Our new Management team will offer our Service such a diverse skill set and will be a great asset to our Centre and community.

Stay tuned over the next few days for posts from both Michelle and Fiona introducing themselves a little more.

There's currently an increase in gastro outbreaks reported in childcare centres. If you have a little one in childcare, make sure you:

👉 Keep them at home if they're experiencing diarrhoea or vomiting. They shouldn't return until 48 hours after their last symptom
👉 Wash your hands thoroughly and regularly with soap
👉 Immediately clean contaminated surfaces with hot, soapy water and household disinfectant
👉 Immediately remove and wash clothing that may be contaminated
👉 Wear gloves and a mask when cleaning up bodily fluids

New early childhood digital learning packs are now available: https://fal.cn/3lGYS

The packs provide easy-to-use timetabled activities for families to support continuity of learning when children are unable to attend their early childhood service.

Two weeks’ worth of learning activities will be published each fortnight throughout Term 1.
