Young Eagles is an exciting program designed to provide extraordinary aviation experiences to prospective future aviators between 10 and 14 years of age. Before they are old enough to start official training!

Cape York Fly-Away Update!

Our members have been making the most of their Cape York & Whitsundays Fly-Away!
After reaching their destination, some of the group have now started the journey back home to Jandakot, while others have decided to keep the adventure going and headed further on to Longreach.

The Qantas Founders Museum was, of course, a must-do along the way! And after flying over the stunning Whitsundays, the group even managed to spot the famous Heart Reef from above. ❤️🌊

What an incredible adventure - and there’s still more to come!

Pilot Maintenance Workshop #2 ✈️

Today we hosted our second Pilot Maintenance Workshop, welcoming another group of RACWA members into the hangar for a morning of learning, practical demonstrations and plenty of aviation knowledge.

The workshop focused on Schedule 8 of the Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) 1988, helping pilots understand what maintenance they are authorised to perform themselves, what’s involved, and how to carry it out safely and correctly.

Our members had the opportunity to get hands-on, ask questions and learn directly from the people who know aircraft inside and out.

A huge thank you to our fantastic Engineering Team, Daniel Bell & Jack Bartlett, for hosting the workshop and sharing their knowledge, experience and passion with our members.

Our engineers really are God’s gift to aviation! Keeping our aircraft safe, serviceable and ready to fly - and making sure our pilots know what’s happening under the cowling too!

“You have arrived at your destination!”

Our RACWA members have officially landed in Cape York!
Today they’ve been exploring Thursday Island and Horn Island, taking in a scenic flight over the Torres Strait Islands and enjoying some pretty spectacular views of the Cape York Peninsula from above.

Now it’s time for a well-deserved refreshment, dinner and a chance to relax and enjoy the adventure.

✈️ Cape York Fly-Away 2026 🌴

On Saturday, some of our members headed off on this year’s Fly-Away to Cape York! Since setting off, they’ve been checking in with us and sending through some fantastic photos from along the way.

They are currently in Karumba🛩️🌏

It looks like they’ve been having an incredible time so far, with the weather certainly on their side! ☀️
We’re looking forward to hearing all about the rest of their adventure and seeing plenty more photos as they continue their journey towards Cape York.
