50 Years researching Mastery in 3 Minutes — Part 1
Note: Deceased Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people may appear in my videos. The speed of some footage has been increased.
In this video, I share a lifetime of experiences and the knowledge I’ve gained across many areas of life. This may eventually include over 20 backgrounds.
This behind-the-scenes look provides important context for future releases. Understanding these experiences may help explain how and why these complex systems have shaped my work.
This is not a competition. It is one life, lived and learned from.
Please keep the discussion respectful. No racism, sexism, ageism or personal attacks. Nobody is perfect, and no human has ever been.
One lesson I’ve learned is that people may criticise you for not sharing your experiences, then criticise you again when you share your background. Sometimes people intend these attacks to sabotage your progress or discourage you from achieving goals that could reduce suffering and help others live more positive and enjoyable lives. Respectful discussion is far more productive. I also note that nobody criticising me has accomplished what I have on my resume; not that it’s a competition, but this also needs to be considered. Australia is fortunate to be one of the best places to live on the planet, and we should work together to help keep it that way.
Many of these experiences relate to health, suffering, death, safety, and productivity. The history and evolution of fishing also include this connection with the natural world, animals, and cultural systems that have existed for millions of years. I hope this two-part series inspires you to pursue meaningful experiences of your own, because life has taught me that knowledge comes from living, learning, and helping others.
Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me in the past and those who may support me in the future. I cannot print the entire list, but I truly appreciate all your contributions.
