POV: you walked into a Young Engineers holiday camp 👀

LEGO everywhere.

A model is being tested for the fifth time.

Someone has just figured out a better way to make theirs work.

Two kids are deep in an engineering discussion that sounds suspiciously like an argument 😂

Another has taken the original challenge in a completely different direction.

There’s building, testing, problem-solving, teamwork, a few failed attempts and plenty of “WAIT, I’ve got an idea!”

Curiosity gets a little loud around here. We like it that way.

Ever wondered how THAT works?

Cars. Cranes. Lifts. Amusement park rides 🚘🎡🏗️

The world around us is full of engineering, even if we don't always stop to notice it.

At Young Engineers, we take those real-world ideas and put them into students' hands.

A gear isn't just a gear when you can see what it makes happen.

A lever makes a lot more sense when you've just used one.

And forces, motion and mechanical advantage become much more interesting when they're making your model work.

That's the fun part.

Behind every Young Engineers class, there’s a whole little ecosystem making it happen.

Schools and venues that open their doors to hands-on STEM.

Educators who bring engineering to life and know when to explain, when to encourage, and when to let students figure it out.

Parents who choose to give their children experiences that stretch their thinking.

Franchise owners who bring Young Engineers into their local communities.

And, right at the centre of it all, our students building, questioning, experimenting and surprising us with what they’re capable of.

Different people. Different roles. One shared goal: giving young minds more opportunities to discover, learn and grow.

What are students really doing at Young Engineers?

Looks like play? Look closer 🤓

There’s a model being built on the table. But there’s a whole lot more happening behind it.

A student is thinking through a problem.
Remembering what they’ve just learned.
Working with others.
Trying something that might not work.
Finding another way when it doesn't.
And experiencing what it feels like to work something out for themselves.

At Young Engineers, LEGO® and building are the tools. What we're really building is curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, resilience and confidence.

So yes, it looks like a lot of fun.

What does an engineering concept look like? 👀

On paper, things like force, motion, gears and mechanical advantage can sound pretty abstract.

Then you build them.
Suddenly, a student isn't just hearing about how a mechanism works.
They can see it.
Touch it.
Put it to work.

That's one of our favourite things about Young Engineers.

We take ideas that exist in textbooks and in the world around us, and give students the chance to experience them for themselves.

Because some things make a whole lot more sense when they're right there in your hands.

Engineering is everywhere. Once you start noticing it, it’s hard to stop.

The lift that takes you upstairs.
The gears that make things move.
The pulley that makes lifting easier.
The structures that somehow hold all that weight.

At Young Engineers, we take concepts that students see working around them every day and bring them down to a scale they can build, explore and understand.

Because the world gets a whole lot more interesting when you stop seeing things as “that’s just how it works”... and start wondering why.

That curiosity is exactly what we want to keep growing 🚀

The finished model is cool. But we’re much more interested in everything that happened before it 🤓

The idea that needed rethinking.

The part that didn’t quite work.

The conversation with a teammate.

The tiny adjustment that finally fixed it.

And, of course, the VERY important test to see if it actually works 😁

That’s where so much of the learning happens at Young Engineers.

The build is what students take home in their heads. The thinking behind it is what stays with them.

Every invention started with a question.

How does this work?
Why does that happen?
What would happen if I changed this?

Curiosity has always been the starting point of innovation.

At Young Engineers, we encourage students to ask questions, explore ideas, and discover the answers through hands-on learning.

It's amazing what children can achieve when they build it themselves.

Week after week, our students bring engineering concepts to life through hands-on models that move, lift, spin, and solve real-world challenges.

But the model is only part of the story.

With every lesson, they're learning to think critically, persevere through challenges, and turn ideas into reality.

One build at a time.

Not every lesson ends with the same result.

Give a group of students the same challenge and you'll often get very different approaches.

Different ideas.
Different questions.
Different ways of thinking.

And that's one of the things we love most about engineering.

There's rarely just one way to solve a problem.
Young Engineers gives students the opportunity to explore, experiment, and discover solutions in their own way.

Because learning isn't about finding the "right" answer.

It's about learning how to think.
