This week the student who inspired the foreground of our mural had the opportunity to put the brush on the wall and add texture to the gora.

It's been a journey, watching our piece evolve from experiments on paper to real paint on the wall.

🌟 Sharing practice and learning at QASELcon26! 🌟

We were proud to have one of our very valued teachers from Claremont Special School share her work at QASELcon26, the Queensland Association of Special Education Leaders’ conference - an opportunity for special education leaders and educators to connect, learn and share effective practice across Queensland.

Dorit’s presentation focused on implementing the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) within daily classroom morning sessions, demonstrating how intentional and consistent routines can support students’ readiness to learn, wellbeing and engagement.

BSEM provides practical strategies to support student wellbeing, self-regulation, relationships and learning.

We’re proud to see the work happening at Claremont being shared with the wider education community and to continue learning from others in the field. 💙

This fortnight we are all working on 'Being Responsible'. We can do that each day by making good choices when we keep our school clean and tidy; when we look after our belongings; when we are in the right place at the right time and we communicate appropriately as well as lots of other ways to show that we are Responsible.
