What is cymatics?
From Ancient Greek: κῦμα, , meaning “wave”, Cymatics is a subset of modal vibrational phenomena. The study of visible sound and vibration. The term was coined by Hans Jenny (1904-1972) a physician and natural scientist. In ‘Cymatics: The Study of Wave Phenomena’ he concluded, “This is not an unregulated chaos; it is a dynamic but ordered pattern.” The multiple forms of geometry, symmetry and beauty that emerge through resonance in various mediums, allows us to ponder the nature of sound, vibration, form and many more questions.

All is vibration. Whether it’s the wave functions of particles in quantum mechanics, the ripples of gravitational waves, or the large-scale structures influenced by dark matter, the universe seems to resonate with the language of waves, patterns, and interactions.

I feel there is similarities to something of a biological nature here, as if little life forms are being born. Obviously this is more metaphorical, as it is vibrating liquids, but fun to ponder nonetheless. :)

Normally the water is in a dish, and the waves of the surface reflect off the edges of the container.

Also notice the patterns forming subtly on the surface.
