Collingwood Park State Secondary College officially opened its gates at the beginning of Term 1, 2025, enrolling students in Years 7 and 8.

The College will continue its planned growth in 2026 with the addition of Year 9 students.

Please take note of our important consent and payment requirements for excursions, camps and non-curricular activities.

📝 CONSENT FIRST
Parental consent must be received via QParents (preferred) or a permission form before an invoice can be issued.

💳 PAYMENT BY THE DUE DATE
Payments must be received by the due date listed on the permission form and invoice. No payment by the due date = No attendance.

🚨 NO PERMISSION = NO INVOICE = NO ATTENDANCE

💬 Need financial support?
If you’re experiencing financial difficulty, please contact the school office as early as possible. We are happy to discuss confidential payment options or support arrangements with families.

🤝 Outstanding Accounts
To help families stay on top of school payments, we encourage any outstanding fees or excursion accounts to be addressed as soon as possible. Where accounts remain outstanding, please contact the school to discuss an appropriate payment arrangement. Participation in some optional activities may be impacted until an arrangement has been made.

🚶‍♀️🚲 Road Safety – Stay Safe, CPSSC! 🛴🚶‍♂️

Whether you’re walking, riding a bike or using a scooter to and from school, and on weekends, it’s important to make safe choices around roads.

Remember to:

👀 Look both ways before crossing any road — even at a designated crossing.
🚗 Don’t assume drivers can see you or that they will stop.
🚲 Ride safely and follow the road rules when using bikes and scooters.
📵 Put phones away and avoid headphones around roads so you can stay alert.
⚠️ Be aware of blind spots and the dangers of moving vehicles.
🏠 Take care around driveways, intersections and parked cars — slow down, look and listen.
🚙 Remember: residential streets can still have vehicles travelling at significant speeds.

🧵✨ Year 9 Textiles – Creating, Sewing & Growing!

Our Year 9 Textiles students have been turning their creative ideas into practical projects this term while building confidence with sewing machines and developing their textile skills!

From learning the basics of measuring, cutting and stitching to creating their very own personalised tote bags, students have demonstrated creativity, resilience and fantastic attention to detail.

It has been wonderful to see their skills, independence and confidence grow throughout the term as they bring their ideas to life — one stitch at a time!

We can’t wait to see what they create next!

Our Year 7 and 8 Food Specialisations students have been cooking up a storm this term while building their confidence and developing essential kitchen skills!

Through hands-on practical lessons, students have been strengthening their food preparation techniques, teamwork and safe kitchen practices, while exploring the importance of healthy and nutritious eating.

From creating delicious dishes to experimenting with different ingredients, it has been fantastic to see our students put their skills into action and grow in confidence, independence and creativity throughout Term 3.

We’re looking forward to seeing what they cook up next!

🔬🧪 THROWBACK TO SCIENCE WEEK! 🚀✨

What a blast Science Week was at CPSSC! Our students got hands-on with experiments, challenges and scientific discoveries — with plenty of excitement (and a little bit of mess!) along the way!

🍉 Watermelon Explosion: How many rubber bands does it take to make a watermelon explode? 333!
🐘 Elephant Toothpaste: Students were wowed by this spectacular reaction!
⚙️ Rube Goldberg Machines: Our budding engineers put their creativity to the test, designing wonderfully complicated machines to complete simple tasks in the most elaborate ways possible!
🧠 Science Trivia: Students finished the week by testing their knowledge with some tricky and surprising questions!

A huge THANK YOU to our students, staff and everyone who got involved in making Science Week such a fun, messy and memorable celebration of curiosity, creativity and discovery!

Parents and carers, ask your students what their favourite Science Week activity was — we’re sure they’ll have a story to tell!
