Grateful for the opportunity to have attended the ATEM (Academic Tertiary Education Management) Leadership Training at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, last week.

ATEM has been developing leaders in tertiary education for more than 30 years, providing leadership and management training for professionals working in universities and tertiary institutions, with support from member universities across Australia.

I was honoured to represent the University of Goroka (UOG), alongside participants from Divine Word University and Channel College. I’m thankful to the Dean of Science and Technology at UOG for recommending me for this opportunity.

The training challenged me to think differently about leadership, management, teamwork, decision making and the responsibility of leading others. It was also a great opportunity to meet, connect and learn alongside leaders and professionals from different institutions.

I return with new perspectives, valuable connections and renewed motivation to lead with purpose, serve others and create positive change.

Leadership is a journey of continuous learning and growth.

On 28 June 2026, I had the honour and privilege of officially presenting the School Code and Teachers Positions to Galdang Primary School in Minj, Jiwaka Province.

It was a proud moment to see a new school officially established and equipped with teachers to provide quality education for its students. The new teachers' positions were rolled out through the Jiwaka Education Division as part of its commitment to strengthening education services across the province.

Investing in new schools and qualified teachers is an investment in the next generation of educated leaders who will contribute to Papua New Guinea's nation building.

My sincere appreciation goes to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this important event a success. Your commitment and dedication to education are truly valued.
