Picture Plates are back at Ipswich Kindergarten!

Turn your child’s artwork into a special keepsake from their Kindy year. Picture Plates are $30 each, and siblings are welcome to create one too!

Templates are available from Sheryl in the office or any staff member. Simply create your artwork at home and return your completed template, order form and payment by Thursday 17 September, for delivery in November. What a great Christmas present!

The learning doesn’t stop when the children aren’t at Kindy!

On Wednesdays, while there are no children in attendance, our staff are still very much learning, reflecting and planning together.

This week we were fortunate to spend the day with Peter Lawrence from Black Cockatoo Education PTY LTD, continuing a learning journey that began three years ago.

Together we deepened our understanding of Uncle Ernie Grant’s Framework and reflected on the many ways local Yuggera knowledge is becoming part of everyday learning at Ipswich Kindergarten.

We also spent time reviewing our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Our RAP is important to us because it isn’t simply a document, it reflects the relationships we are building, the learning we are doing and the actions we are taking alongside our children, families and local community.

We’re proud of how this work continues to grow and evolve, and grateful to Peter for walking alongside us.

🥧 The pies have arrived! 🥧

Orders are now ready for collection.

Our wonderful Committee volunteers have been hard at work sorting everything and will be here to help this afternoon. Orders are organised alphabetically by surname.

Frog and Kookaburra families: if you're able to collect before the usual 3:15–3:45pm pick-up time, it may save you some parking stress, as today is a Kindy day for our Water Dragon and Possum groups.

This week is Early Learning Matters Week: a chance to shine a light on the incredible importance of the early years and the lasting impact of quality early childhood education.

We were delighted to welcome Jennifer Howard MP, Member for Ipswich, to Ipswich Kindergarten for the morning on Monday. Jennifer spent time with our children, explored our learning environment, listened as children proudly shared their Kindy Books, and saw firsthand the rich learning that happens through play, relationships and inquiry each day.

We also had the opportunity to talk about the important role kindergarten teachers and educators play, not only in nurturing children's learning, but in building strong, trusting relationships with children and families that create the foundation for lifelong learning. The early years truly matter, and investing in children during this time sets the foundation for lifelong learning, wellbeing and success.

Thank you, Jennifer, for taking the time to visit Ipswich Kindergarten and for recognising the value of early childhood education.
