🌟 LEARNING IN ACTION | EARLY CHILDHOOD STUDIES

Our Bremer Early Childhood Studies students recently visited Ipswich Kindergarten as part of their program.

The excursion provided students with valuable hands-on experience interacting with children in an early childhood setting, while giving them the opportunity to deliver a pre-planned activity as part of their assessment. 👏🧸📚

A huge thank you to the staff and children at Ipswich Kindergarten for welcoming our students and providing such a valuable learning experience. A special thank you for Ms Fox for her organisation of this amazing experience for our students.

With more than 80 years of service to the Ipswich community, Ipswich Kindergarten is one of Queensland’s oldest community kindergartens, continuing to provide quality early childhood education to local families. 💙

What a turnout!

We had an absolutely HUGE crew at our Kindy Working Bee today! What a difference two hours (and a whole lot of wheelbarrows!) can make!

Our biggest job for the morning was moving a whopping 31 cubic metres of softfall into our swing and fort areas. Yep… 31 cubic metres! 😳💪 Check out the timelapse to watch that mountain slowly disappear!

There was plenty happening right across the Kindy too, with gardens getting a fresh load of compost, lots of weeding and tidying, and even our new basketball hoop being installed.

Days like today are such a lovely reminder of just how special our Kindy community is. We are incredibly grateful to every single parent who gave up their Sunday morning, brought along wheelbarrows and shovels, got dirty, worked hard and helped make our beautiful Kindy grounds even better for our children. There was so much love for our Kindy out there today.

A massive thank you to Meaghan, Dave, Adam, Amber, Kelly, Brendan, Tahlia, Nikky, Renee, Justin, Conor, Josh, Madyson, John, Katie, Andrea, Taylah, Robert, Tamara, Amy, Joel, Catrina, Daniel, Amanda and Andrew.

We really couldn’t do these big jobs without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Don't forget to get your picture plate orders in!

A great Christmas gift idea or commemorative item to fondly remember Ipswich Kindergarten for years to come.

These plates are so durable and really do stand the test of time. Our current Vice President Liam has proudly been using his picture plate for lunch every day for the past 30 years.

Orders due in by September 17th.

🌟 Happy Educators’ Day! 🌟

Today is a beautiful opportunity to recognise and appreciate the incredible educators who make such a difference in the lives of our children. ❤️

Teaching is so much more than lessons, books and classrooms. It’s patience, encouragement, kindness, understanding and believing in a child — sometimes even when they don’t yet believe in themselves.

To every teacher, educator, teacher aide and support staff member who shows up each day with care and dedication — thank you. Thank you for the countless hours behind the scenes, the extra effort, the little words of encouragement, the celebrations of every achievement and the comfort on the difficult days.

You are helping shape not only what our children learn, but who they become. 📚✨

We see you. We appreciate you. And we are so incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Picture Plates are back at Ipswich Kindergarten!

Turn your child’s artwork into a special keepsake from their Kindy year. Picture Plates are $30 each, and siblings are welcome to create one too!

Templates are available from Sheryl in the office or any staff member. Simply create your artwork at home and return your completed template, order form and payment by Thursday 17 September, for delivery in November. What a great Christmas present!

We are so grateful for the wonderful parents who volunteer their time as part of our Ipswich Kindergarten Committee.

Being on the committee isn’t just about helping Kindy behind the scenes, it’s also a lovely way for parents to feel more connected to their child’s Kindy experience, meet other families, have a voice in our community and be part of the decisions and ideas that help our Kindy continue to grow.

Our community kindergarten is what it is because families choose to be involved, contribute and work alongside us. We certainly couldn’t do it without them!

A big thank you to our current committee for everything you do for Ipswich Kindergarten.

The learning doesn’t stop when the children aren’t at Kindy!

On Wednesdays, while there are no children in attendance, our staff are still very much learning, reflecting and planning together.

This week we were fortunate to spend the day with Peter Lawrence from Black Cockatoo Education PTY LTD, continuing a learning journey that began three years ago.

Together we deepened our understanding of Uncle Ernie Grant’s Framework and reflected on the many ways local Yuggera knowledge is becoming part of everyday learning at Ipswich Kindergarten.

We also spent time reviewing our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Our RAP is important to us because it isn’t simply a document, it reflects the relationships we are building, the learning we are doing and the actions we are taking alongside our children, families and local community.

We’re proud of how this work continues to grow and evolve, and grateful to Peter for walking alongside us.
