πŸ—οΈ Learning in Action | On Site with Year 5

Our Year 5 students recently took the next step in their Town Planning unit, heading out to the Jacaranda Street fields to conduct a site survey for their proposed developments.

Armed with clipboards, cameras and keen observation skills, students documented key features of the site, collected data and sketched maps to inform their planning decisions.

Building on insights shared by Ipswich City Council's City Design team, students will now use their findings to develop proposals for the future of the space, presenting their ideas as part of their Town Planning project.

It's National Science Week! πŸŒ±πŸ”¬

Today, our students celebrated this year's National Science Week theme, Seeds of Science: Nurturing Science for All, with a range of fun lunchtime activities hosted by the Ipswich Girls' Grammar School Science Ambassadors and Science Department.

Students decorated mini plant pots, made sunflower seed bombs to take home and plant, contributed to a collaborative Science Week artwork, and enjoyed a pollination-themed egg and spoon race.

A big thank you to the IGGS Science Ambassadors and Science Department for sharing the excitement of National Science Week with our students. πŸŒ»πŸŒ±πŸ”¬
