We're halfway through Queensland Mental Health Week, so here's a little homework from us (the good kind). 😉

Checking in on someone doesn't need a script. Pick a relaxed moment, ask an open question like "how are you travelling, really?", then listen more than you talk. You don't need to fix anything. If they're doing it tough, let them know support is out there, whether that's their GP, Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636.

It's simple and human, and it might just make someone's week.

Queensland Mental Health Week kicks off today and runs until Sunday 11 October, with the theme Build Community, Build Wellbeing. 🧡

We love this one, because community is where we live. Ipswich is home for us, and every week our Trainers are in workplaces, schools and community groups across the region seeing how much difference it makes when people feel connected and know someone has their back.

This week, try one small thing. Message a mate you haven't heard from, sit with a colleague at lunch, or ask someone how they're really going and wait for the real answer.

Here at F.A.S.T. we've always believed that looking after your mind matters just as much as knowing what to do in an emergency, which is why mental health and wellbeing sits right at the heart of what we do. We teach CPR because hearts matter, and we teach mental health because people matter.

Something happens at the end of almost every training session. 👇
The Trainer mentions our Workplace Wellbeing workshop and SOS First Aid for Stress bundle, and the room changes.

Someone always hangs back until the others leave and says "this is exactly what my team needs, how do I get my workplace to do this?"
