Been an amazing first week in Manmoyi NT teaching Cert I Vocational Skills Training

Just had a much needed break up at the Goldy for a few nights - feeling refreshed

Whilst I find myself often overwhelmed, the life of an academic is pretty sweet. I find myself immersing myself into culture ANY way I can. This is INTEGRAL to my job. The best part is being invited to present or contribute writing helping further the cause. I am forever grateful for the opportunities afforded to me. My goal is for there to be a significant decrease in the number of First Nations women that are incarcerated. I want these women studying in university, finding their true potential through qualification and cultural connections. There's too many mob locked up that SHOULD NOT BE THERE. Given the opportunities that culturally-led education can produce it is likely that Australian prisons need to improve or implement their current educational systems to be culturally inclusive. This paired with a culturally appropriate tutoring system upon release..... I mean we could move mountains and change the lives of many First Nations women in the process ✊🏼🖤💛❤️

Made friends with a local magpie family, the dad is so cute. He has lovely shiny feathers and likes to be called Uncle 🐦‍⬛🥰
