We’re looking forward to welcoming our students back to Ripley Valley State Secondary College on Tuesday 6 October for the start of Term 4!

With the holidays almost over, now is a great time to make sure everything is ready for the weeks ahead.

Before Tuesday, please check uniforms are clean and ready to go, shoes meet College requirements, hair is neat and tidy, devices are charged and bags are packed with everything needed for a strong start to the term.

Term 4 is always a busy one, and we’re excited to have our students back on campus, ready to learn, reconnect and finish the year strongly.

Congratulations to all students who have been selected in the Team of the Round for our QFSL Round 9 fixture against Balmoral SHS! This matchday marks the conclusion of our 2026 QFSL season, and what an incredible way to finish! Both our Junior Girls and Senior Girls have qualified for the QFSL Grand Final, to be played on Friday 16 October – more information to come surrounding this fixture with livestreaming of the games.

A special mention must also go to our Junior Boys, who narrowly missed out on a place in the Grand Final on goal difference. What a spectacular season they have had, and they should be incredibly proud of their efforts throughout the competition. Thank you to all of our teams who have represented the College throughout the 2026 QFSL season. Your commitment, effort and pride in representing our Football Academy has been outstanding. We look forward to building on this success in 2027.

Finally, a special farewell to members of our Senior Boys Team – Allen, Jackson and Levi. These students have been part of our Football Academy since its inception in 2022. Thank you for your ongoing commitment, effort and participation across all Football Academy events over the years. It has been fantastic to watch you develop both on and off the field, and we wish you all the very best for the next chapter.

A huge congratulations to Ava, who produced an outstanding performance at the Met West Regional Carnival, taking second place in Triple Jump with a best jump of 10.03 metres!

That result secured Ava’s place at the State Championships and is an incredible achievement to celebrate.

Ava is one of six Ripley Valley State Secondary College students who qualified to represent Met West at the State Championships, a fantastic achievement for our school and our athletes.

We are incredibly proud to see Ava’s hard work, talent and dedication rewarded at this level.

Recently our senior Pacifica Girls proudly participated in a graduation ceremony delivered by Legacy, celebrating their commitment and growth throughout The Legacy Cultural Youth Program.

The students engaged in a quality small group experience that strengthened cultural identity, connection, and belonging, culminating in a shared final feast to mark the occasion.

We extend our sincere thanks to Legacy for delivering such a meaningful program for our students.

We look forward to continuing our Pacifica groups throughout the year. In Term 3, Legacy will facilitate a Junior Girls Program, further expanding opportunities for connection and cultural pride.

Our Health Academy students had an incredible day at University of Southern Queensland - Australia Ipswich, visiting the Nursing and Midwifery Learning Centre and experiencing hands-on learning in a university setting.

Students were immersed in practical activities and gained valuable knowledge and insights from the amazing UniSQ lecturers and teaching staff. There was a real buzz in the room as students experienced what working in a hospital can look and feel like!

Experiences like this help our students connect their classroom learning with the real world and inspire them as they take the next steps towards their future careers in healthcare. πŸ’™
