Building Connections for a Confident Transition to School 🌱📚

Strong relationships between kindy and local schools play such an important role in supporting children as they prepare for the transition to school. These connections help children become familiar with their new environment, build confidence, develop a sense of belonging and make the move to “big school” feel exciting and achievable. 💛

We are so grateful to have such a strong relationship with Silkstone State School and truly appreciate their ongoing support and commitment to our Kindy children. It was wonderful to welcome them to our Kindy for a special story time, giving the children the opportunity to meet familiar faces from school and begin building those important connections. 📖✨

In the coming weeks, our teacher will have the opportunity to visit Silkstone State School, take part in a story time and continue strengthening the connections between our Kindy and the school community.

We are also excited to take part in the school's Hop, Skip & Job transition program, providing our children with valuable opportunities to become familiar with school life, routines and the people who will support them along the way.

These partnerships are so important in helping children feel safe, supported, connected and ready to learn as they take their next big step. 🌟

🌟Supporting Communication Through Visuals🌟

Our educators have been busy learning with SPELD Kindy and a Speech Language Pathologist, exploring practical ways to use visual supports to strengthen children’s communication, confidence and understanding. 💬👀

And the learning continues! Our team will receive in-service support and one-on-one coaching to put these strategies into practice and support the individual needs of every child. 🌱💛
