Wishing all children and their teachers a calm, smooth and enjoyable day back to school. I'm looking forward to welcoming my students back into the tutoring room this morning! It's going to be a great year of learning and growth. ⭐️

How cute is this! 🥰 Love that one of my younger students wanted to leave a kind note for another student to find. They were very excited when they returned to see who had read it. ⭐️

🌺Hawaii was amazing and the first thing we saw leaving Honolulu airport heading to our accommodation was the yellow school buses! They were everywhere which made me think of my students. ✨

We moved to Queensland in 2025 after 6 months travelling in our caravan. We had been 'world schooling' our 5 yo and 7 yo over that time. Upon settling into our new home, I needed help teaching the basics: reading, writing, spelling and maths. We found Brooke and our children worked with her once a week for circa 2 hours. Our 7yo went from reading readers to being obsessed with reading and begs to go to the library to get more books. He is currently reading the Harry Potter series.

Our 5yo had a gentle 1:1 start to learning to read and write - no getting lost in the classroom and Brooke being able to identify what was landing and what needed a different approach. I needed to return to work and found the kids a beautiful little school. They settled in with ease and are confident learners with the solid foundation Brooke gave them. They have flourished and continue to be excited to read, write and do maths.

We are grateful for Brooke's kind and playful approach to learning and working with our children to build confidence and an excitement for learning. As a parent, our time at Shining Stars was invaluable and I would (and have) recommend her to anyone wanting the best for their child's learning journey.

✨SPELD Qualified Literacy Interventionist ✨
Thrilled to share I recently completed the highly regarded six month SPELD NSW Literacy Intervention Course. This indepth course consolidated prior knowledge and deepened my understanding of reading difficulties (including different subsets of dyslexia) and intervention strategies to support children with reading and spelling difficulties. 💙

It’s always bittersweet when a student no longer needs to come to Shining Stars for educational support. ⭐️
