πŸ’™β€In Week 3, we celebrated Education Week and honoured the following members of our school community for their outstanding contributions, dedication and commitment to our school.

FIONA McKENZIE
Fiona's positive demeanour is the kind that is infectious. As the HT PDHPE and a highly valued member of Macintyre's executive team, her positivity and perseverance ensure genuine collaboration. Fiona fosters a highly productive workplace culture through being deeply invested in students learning and wellbeing outcomes. Her outstanding work ethic is nothing short of admirable, as to put it quite frankly, you can always rely on her to just get things done. Fiona is a vibrant and energetic school leader who is genuinely dedicated to student growth and school improvement. She is an outstanding teacher and an inspirational mentor for our students on the sporting field, in the classroom and in life.

JACQUI P
Over the course of her high school journey, Jacqui has grown into an exceptionally hard working, humble and dedicated student. With a sharp focus on her academic studies, she has always been intrinsically driven to achieve her personal best. She has high expectations of herself and others which she demonstrates by actively seeking and acting on feedback in order to continuously improve. She is a community minded student who has been a valued member of the SRC, mentoring younger students and encouraging others. She brings enthusiastic energy to school community events and carnivals and she her proactive efforts around fundraising are much appreciated. Jacqui has played an active role on the local Youth Advisory Council, she is a highly effective public speaker and we wish her all the best with her future ambitions.

JANE BLAIR
As our Aboriginal Education Officer at MHS, Jane Blair is committed to being a support network for all of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families. Through working as part of our Aboriginal Education Team and our Junior AECG, she has strengthened students’ cultural identity by embedding Aboriginal perspectives in school programs and creating opportunities for cultural expression through art, language, gardening and many other programs. With her kind heart and years of experience, Janes creates the sense of belonging which is vital for wellbeing and learning. With high expectations, Jane encourages all Aboriginal students to set goals and feel empowered to achieve them. She works to make every student feel supported and valued in our school community.

We congratulate the above recipients on their awards. β€πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yesterday, Macintyre High School had a fantastic time welcoming prospective students from our small feeder schools! πŸŽ‰

The day kicked off with a BBQ lunch before students teamed up with the 11 peer students for a very competitive game of Blue Rover. Then it was off to the Ag Plot for cuddles with week-old baby goats, day-old chicks and a chance to get up close and brush the bulls! πŸπŸ£πŸ‚

A huge thank you to our wonderful Year 10 peer leaders, and to Ms McKenzie, Ms Fenton, Mrs Gleeson and Mr Gleeson for helping make the day such a success. πŸ‘

We had a great time and can’t wait to welcome the students back on the 3rd of September for our All Schools Half-Day Transition!

Thank you to Armidale author and illustrator Trish Donald for facilitating today's Creative Writing workshop. It was a highly engaging day focused on the creative process of story writing. Students developed characters, book covers, micro-stories, and vignettes throughout the day. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to enhance their creative writing skills.
