Yesterday, St Teresa’s College had the privilege of hosting representatives from Catholic Education Queensland Limited (CEQL) and members of our Community Consultation Committee.
As part of a special welcome, our College Dance Troupes proudly performed for our guests at the Point, sharing culture through song and dance.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the day. We hope your visit was both enjoyable and memorable, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

🌊 Surf Life Saving Training 🛟

On Sunday, our students took on challenging surf conditions during their weekly training with the Forrest Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

The boys showed great enthusiasm and determination as they developed their surf swimming and board skills, practised CPR and patient rescues, and worked towards their individual Surf Life Saving accreditations and awards. They also participated in surf hazard awareness training, gaining valuable knowledge to help keep themselves and others safe at the beach.

We are incredibly grateful to the members of the Forrest Beach Surf Life Saving Club for the professionalism, encouragement and high-quality training they provide each week. Their ongoing support is helping our students build vital lifesaving skills, resilience and confidence—both in and out of the water. 👏🌊

Year 11 Leadership Camp 2026

Last week, our Year 11 students took part in the 2026 Leadership Camp, tackling a challenging two-day mountain bike adventure along the base of the range and into the National Park.

Throughout the journey, students demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, including resilience, teamwork, encouragement, problem-solving, and even some impressive culinary skills. Their support for one another was evident every step of the way.

In the evening, students reflected on their time at the College and shared their ideas, aspirations, and goals for their year as leaders. It was a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections and begin shaping their vision for the future.

Their leadership journey continues in the coming weeks with leadership speeches, before the announcement of our 2027 student leaders.

Last week, St Teresa’s College was proud to welcome Deputy Principals from EREA Colleges across Australia for a special cultural experience.

Our guests gathered at The Point, where they enjoyed powerful performances by our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Dance Troupes. They also participated in a thought-provoking presentation on Truth-Telling and the importance of acknowledging and understanding Australia’s shared history.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share the strength of our students, culture and community, while encouraging meaningful conversations that support greater understanding and reconciliation.

We thank our visiting Deputy Principals for joining us and embracing this important experience. 🖤💛❤️ 💚💙🤍

What an incredible achievement for Treyston! 🏃‍♂️🔥

Representing Herbert River and St Teresa’s College at the Northern Region School Sport Track & Field Championships, Treyston produced an outstanding run in the 15 Years Boys 100m, clocking an incredible 10.94 seconds and setting a NEW Northern Region record! 🏆⚡

An amazing achievement and a very proud moment for Treyston, Herbert River and our entire Gowrie community. 💚💛

We are incredibly proud to see one of our boys competing at this level, representing our College and region with pride and achieving such an outstanding result.

On Monday our Year 7 and 8 students travelled to Townsville to take on Ignatius Park College in a game of Rugby League!

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to come together, compete and proudly represent their Gowrie family. It was wonderful to see the boys encouraging one another and showing great teamwork both on and off the field.

We are incredibly proud of how our students represented the College and wore the green and gold with pride. We look forward to the next opportunity to come together and compete!

A huge congratulations to the Herbert River Crushers U13, U15 and U16 teams, who have all secured a place in the 2026 Finals!

Come along and support our young players as they take the field on Saturday, 29 August at the , 132 Kern Brothers Drive.
