Grades 4-6 enjoyed learning about the role of a Social Scientist in a Tech World. Dr Faron gave an interesting and engaging presentation to the students, challenging their thinking processes and encouraging them to look at various angles to find solutions. As Dr Faron told us, the obvious solution is not necessarily the best. Dr Faron who works alongside Tech colleagues, advocates for customers and as such is constantly developing practical solutions for real world problems.

As part of STEM week last term, the grade 5/6 class built 25 individual solar lights for disadvantaged communities in developing countries. These lights are primarily used in the home and for walking at night. The independence and safety, one light offers is often taken for granted in our lives. The students enjoyed learning about circuits and how to connect a solar panel to a battery and to ensure it connected and worked.

Today, we celebrated the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary, taking time to reflect on Mary's love, faith and devotion. Through prayer and learning, our students were reminded of the importance of trusting in God, showing kindness to others and living out our faith each day.

May Our Lady continue to guide and bless our Holy Family community. 💙✨

🐾💙 St Francis of Assisi Feast Day 💙🐾

Today we celebrated the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. Through prayer and reflection, our students learned about St Francis' message of kindness, peace, humility and care for all of God's creation.

May we continue to follow his example by showing compassion to others and being good stewards of our world. 🌿🐦✨

📸🚑 Term 3 Flashback! 🚑📸

During our recent Professional Development Day, our staff worked tirelessly to refresh their first aid skills with our favourite trainer, Glenys! From CPR practice to emergency response scenarios, there was plenty of learning and teamwork throughout the day.

We're pleased to report that all the Annie dolls made it home safe and sound, and no mannequins were harmed in the taking of these photos! 😉😂

A big thank you to Glenys for another engaging and valuable training session, helping us ensure our students remain in safe and capable hands.

🐨💙 Last Wednesday, our students were fascinated by a special presentation from Associate Professor Romane Cristescu, conservation ecologist and Director of Detection Dogs for Conservation. Romane shared how science, technology and specially trained detection dogs help protect Australia's precious wildlife, particularly koalas.

A highlight for our students was hearing all about Blue the detector dog and his incredible ability to sniff out koalas! They loved learning how smart Blue is and the important role he plays in helping researchers better understand and conserve our wildlife. 🐾🌿
