Indooroopilly Kindergarten

Welcome to our new assistant educator in Possum group, Miss Jen! Jen is very excited to be starting here at C&K Indooroopilly and is looking forward to meeting all the children and families.
We have some places still available for 2022 for children aged 3-5 years. Contact us on 3378 2578 to arrange a visit.

Today we enjoyed playing in the muddy puddles and the small river created by all the rain we've had over the last few days. The children caught imaginary fish in the puddle, made leaf boats and tried to dam the flow of the water using rocks. They noticed that some of the rocks were washed away and hunted for bigger ones to use. Later, one friend tried using a ball as a dam wall. There was also lots of jumping and splashing!

Our gum tree bark is peeling again, and we have been creating beautiful artworks with it, mixing colours and working together. At C&K Indooroopilly we love our natural playground. There's always something new to see and each day we slow down and take notice of changes to the natural environment.

These lovely ladies came to our open day today. The ladies on the outside attended the kindy as children. In the middle is a parent who helped fundraise to build our kindy building. It was amazing to hear their memories of the kindy.

A beautiful space created by one of our clever mums for our Open Day tomorrow. We are celebrating 60 years in our kindy building. Come along between 10am and 1pm! We will have face painting, giant board games, a cake stall and a raffle with great prizes.

We would like to invite you to our Open Day on Saturday 4th September, 10am - 1pm. Play in our playground, paint, buy a cake and a raffle ticket, get your face painted and browse our historical display. Our building is turning 60 this year! If you came to our kindergarten, come back for a visit and write in our memory book. We would love to see you!

As a fine motor activity, the children used little droppers to make colour patterns on paper towel. This was a calming, slow paced activity. The children were fascinated that the colour could be held in the tube until they released it themselves. Again and again they dipped into the jar and carefully observed their dropper carry the fluid to the paper.

We plan to revisit this activity going forward and are very interested to see other areas of learning the children will discover and reveal to us.
