Congratulations to Year 12 boarder and College Captain Nathan N, who was selected to attend the 2026 Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO) National Music Camp in Adelaide in January, following a highly competitive audition process.

During the camp, Nathan spent two weeks immersed in intensive orchestral training, rehearsing under world‑renowned conductor Alan Buribayev and performing in festival concerts alongside talented young musicians from across the country. He described the experience as “transformative” and a rare opportunity to connect with like‑minded musicians as he prepares for a future in the professional music world.

Nathan has also been selected as Principal Cello for the upcoming AYO Young Symphonists Camp in Canberra.

Well done, Nathan! Your leadership and musical excellence continue to inspire our community.

Open Day 2026 | A huge thank you to the Boarding students who helped out at Open Day last weekend. Whether it was taking families on campus tours, working on the Boarding BBQ, assisting on displays or speaking on a panel, we are proud of the way you represented the Boarding community and wider College with such confidence, maturity and warmth.

We’re grateful for the role you played in helping make our future families feel welcome.

Kudos to the St Peters Boarding students who swapped a Sunday sleep-in for a 5km fun run in 200% humidity yesterday in support of Mater Chicks in Pink. And thank you to the staff who cheered them on!

We’re very close to meeting our fundraising goal of $10,000. If you’d like to help us over the line, please donate via the link below:

Our first Adopt a Boarder catch-up for the year took place last week, with staff and their ‘adopted’ boarders gathering for lunch together in Café 45.

The relaxed get-together provided a chance to check in, share a meal and hear how students have settled into the new school year. The Adopt a Boarder program helps strengthen the sense of connection and support that is so important for our boarding community.

We are delighted to welcome Mr Tim Sedgwick, who has joined St Peters this term as our new Director of Boarding.

Tim brings extensive experience in boarding and pastoral care, with a strong background in boys’ education within Australian independent schools. Most recently, he has held senior boarding leadership roles, including Assistant Director of Boarding and Head of Residence, where he focused on building safe, supportive and well‑structured boarding communities in close partnership with families.

Beyond boarding, Tim has contributed widely to school life through his involvement in cocurricular programs. He is a strong advocate for holistic education and has held leadership roles in sport, including Head of Rugby and senior coaching positions, as well as supporting student leadership, camps and major school events.

Tim holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including a Master of Education and a Master of Business Administration, reflecting his commitment to both effective teaching and sound school leadership.

This year, Tim is most looking forward to getting to know our students, staff and families, contributing positively to school culture, and helping foster learning and wellbeing environments where young people can thrive.

Welcome to St Peters, Tim!

Last night, we gathered in the Chapel for the Boarding Leaders Installation Service, celebrating the students who have stepped forward to lead and serve our Boarding community in 2026.

Congratulations to our Boarding Leadership team: Head Boarder Boy Jaxson, Head Boarder Girl Mary, Faith Captains Caleb and Dulcie, Schilling Captain Eli, Ludcke‑Mutze Captain Kevin, Finger Captain Keira, and Cameron Captain Keeley.

Director of Boarding Tim Sedgwick reminded us that leadership at St Peters isn’t about badges or titles — it’s found in the quiet moments: checking in on others, setting the tone when no one’s watching, choosing respect, and being the steady voice others can rely on.

Boarding is more than a place to stay; it’s our home. Four Houses – One Family.

Old Scholar Grayson Gibson Gaining Industry Experience with Rio Tinto

From St Peters boarding to the Rio Tinto Paid School Leavers Program, Old Scholar and boarder Grayson Gibson (2024) is making the most of every opportunity. The three-month program, designed for Year 12 graduates, helps build work readiness skills and explore career pathways with Rio Tinto Weipa.

Grayson was originally hosted with the Land and Rehab team, contributing to the rehabilitation of mining areas. Program Leader Matthew Wallace was quick to recognise his strong work ethic:

"Right from the beginning, I noticed Grayson’s positive attitude towards our work and processes, which goes a long way. Our team embraces Grayson and appreciates his hard work. He is always asking questions and getting involved, and with all tasks, exceeds expectations. I would employ him 100%."

Grayson has also taken the initiative to shadow professionals in the Light Vehicle Workshop, gaining hands-on experience that aligns with his career aspirations.

"I aspire to embark on an Electrical/Auto Electrical Apprenticeship and eventually start my own business," he shared.

It's inspiring to see Grayson seizing opportunities and paving his own path in the industry. We can't wait to see what the future holds for him!
