Woo!! Now that Term 1 grading is done, we can focus on Term 2!

Enrolments for Term 2 are now open for ALL students. The enrolment period will commence from Tuesday 16 June and close Sunday 12 July at the end of lessons. We will NOT be accepting any late enrolments.

Not sure how to join? It's actually very simple - come to a lesson (Tuesdays at 6pm OR Sundays at 2pm) and try it out. If you like it, and you're not too puffed out/sore, have a chat to one of our instructors or admin team to talk about enrolment. Please DO NOT just join via the QR code without talking to one of our team members!

See you then!!

Grading is coming up!

For those grading, ALL forms must be completed AND paid for by end of classes on Sunday 07 June (that's this Sunday). There will be no late acceptances.

Grading will be on Saturday 13 June commencing at midday for senior belts, and 2pm for Light Blue to Blue II. Please do NOT be late as the day is usually long. If you are coming to support, please ensure you are not in the way of the examiners and keep noise to a minimum so our students can remain focused!

Following this, Sunday 14 June at 2pm will be Belt Ceremony and Memorial Day. This is for ALL Vovinam students to attend and is part of the Vovinam culture in respecting our predecessors and the history of Vovinam. As always, we would be grateful and appreciative if families could bring a plate of food to share - we hear Thầy Vui cooks pretty well 😜

TL; DR:
1. Forms in by Sunday 07 June end of classes
2. Grading Saturday 13 June
- Blue III above 12pm
- Light Blue to Blue II 2pm
3. Belt Ceremony and Memorial Day for ALL belts levels Sunday 14 June at 2pm

Keep training and one day you will be great!

PSA: Due to a community event occuring at Phat Da Temple, Vovinam training centre will be closed from Thursday 28 May (no lessons that night), and returning on Thursday 04 June (we will be open this night).

This is not an excuse to skip training - please continue to train hard so you can be the BEST at grading!

For students in the performance/competition group, please check your email regarding alternative training venue so we can actually make sure you are training 😜

See you on Tuesday or next week!

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!!

Today is the day we celebrate those who are mothers, those who are about to become mothers (including those who are trying to become mothers), and those who have had to step up to be a mother even if they're not (we're talking those single fathers, grandmothers/parents, aunties, etc.). Their nurturing ways help shape us as a human and form the building blocks of our values and growth. Without their steady foundation, we would come crumbling down.

We of course, acknowledge that this day can be hard for some.
📞For those who live far away from their mothers - we're sure they're missing you just as much as you miss them. A simple phone call can be the difference between a good day and a great day.
🤰🐣For those who are soon-to-be or new mums and questioning their every decision - your perseverance is to be commended and you should not measure success by your failures.
🌈For those who have lost their mothers - know that she is watching you now, content with the path you are paving. A rainbow needs both rain and shine.
🧸For those who have lost their child and thus someone who will call you 'mum' - your perseverance through the hardship define you as a mother and certainly does not mean you return that title. Once a mother, always a mother.

To commemorate this day, we took a stroll down memory lane (but only up to a year ago) and found some of the mothers who helped shape our Vovinam year! Of course, this by no means is a full list of all the mothers who help shape our Vovinam community - just know we appreciate all those who take on the nurturing roles!

So from all of us at Vovinam, we hope everyone celebrates their important lady in their life and have a Happy Mothers' Day.

And we hope you come to training today 🫵🙃👊

01/05/2026

Just a reminder that there is NO training this weekend on Saturday 02 May (today) and Sunday 03 May (tomorrow).

If you show up, be prepared to be very lonely 🙃

We hope everyone takes this long weekend as a chance to recover and rest before we do the final run to grading!
