Through our community connections, we welcomed two students from Inala TAFE who participated in the Get Ready for Work program. This 20-week program supports students from refugee and migrant backgrounds to develop employability skills, build confidence, and create career pathway plans for their future. The program has previously provided successful employment pathways into our service, with educators being employed after completing their placements.

We were pleased to welcome two new students who recently graduated from the program. During their placement at the service, they built positive connections with the team and children while gaining valuable insight into working within the early childhood sector. Their placement provided practical experience and helped them develop an understanding of the skills, responsibilities, and professional relationships required in early childhood education and care.

During our Bush Kindy๐Ÿƒ adventure, our Pre Kindy jarjums explored the natural environment with curiosity, excitement and a strong sense of wonder.

They spent time discovering the bushland, engaging with natural materials and connecting with the outdoors through play and observation. The jarjums used tape to combine natural items and create mini structures, and they enjoyed digging, scooping and exploring with buckets and shovels in hand.

A highlight of the day was a bush walk through the leaves and branches, where the jarjums immersed themselves in the sights, sounds and textures of nature all around them.

It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, independence and a deeper appreciation for the natural world through hands-on, meaningful learning.

The Kindy Jarjums had special visit from Urban Bee Education.๐Ÿ The jarjums learned all about bees from their anatomy, habitats, to the important role they play in our food web and environment.

The jarjums watched and listened closely as the bees buzzed around their hives, producing honey and moving through the crevices of their home. It was a fascinating hands on experience.

To finish the visit, the jarjums enjoyed tasting fresh honey and got creative by making their own lip balms and decorating them with custom stickers. A fun, educational and very sweet experience for everyone involved.

Our little toddler jarjums enjoyed a day of curiosity and exploration at Bush Kindy ๐Ÿƒthis week.

After our Acknowledgement of Country, the jarjums noticed a tree with striking red sap and were intrigued by what they could see. They gathered their binoculars and magnifying glasses to take a closer look, observing the colour and searching for spiderwebs woven through the branches.

The exploration continued as the jarjums collected gum nuts they discovered on the ground, proudly sharing their findings with their educators. They also showed great interest in filling spray bottles to gently mist the leaves, trees, and branches, offering water to the thirsty trees and caring for the natural environment around them.
A beautiful day of wonder, observation and connection with nature.

๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‚ Nursery Bush Kindy Adventure! ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŒฟ

During Nursery Bush Kindy, our jarjums explored the natural environment and engaged in hands-on learning experiences. Together, we collected leaves, sticks, bark, and other natural treasures, placing them into baskets as we discovered the wonders of nature around us.

Using the materials they gathered, the children created beautiful collages, showcasing their creativity while developing their fine motor skills. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, explore through play, and express themselves through art. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

Our Kindy Jarjums became nature detectives as they explored the Bush Kindy environment with magnifying glasses and bug catchers. While searching through leaf litter and around trees, they discovered a spider tucked inside the gum of a tree, sparking conversations about its features, habitat, and survival.

Inspired by insect books and flash cards, the children created detailed drawings of the creatures they observed, developing their creativity and observation skills. They also worked together to tie a rope between trees and practised jumping over it, building confidence, balance, and teamwork.

To finish the day, the children enjoyed a moment of mindfulness, listening to the sounds of nature and reflecting on their adventure.

It was a wonderful day filled with curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and a growing appreciation for the natural world. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

๐ŸŠ๐ŸŒฟ Last week, our Pre-Kindy jarjums enjoyed a wonderful day of foraging and exploring in the yard!

Working together, they searched the trees for ripe oranges and mandarins, proudly picking fruit and filling their baskets with their discoveries. The jarjums also checked on our compost bin and learned that it needed more "browns" to help it thrive, eagerly adding shredded paper and exploring the composting process.

Through these hands-on experiences, the children developed teamwork skills, strengthened their connection to nature, and gained a deeper understanding of caring for our environment. It was a fantastic day of learning, discovery, and collaboration! ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

During last weeks visit to the library, our kindergarten jarjum enjoyed reading the story Frog Finds a Place. Sharing stories together helps build early literacy skills, expands vocabulary, sparks imagination, and encourages a lifelong love of reading.

After the story, the jarjum got creative by colouring and cutting out their own frogs. They then attached them to sticks and proudly shared their creations with one another. This fun activity supported fine motor development, creativity, confidence, and social interaction.

Visits to the library provide wonderful opportunities for children to explore books, develop a love of learning, and connect stories to hands on experiences.
