Esme is our Values Student of the Week this week. Esme embodies Confidence, willingly sharing her ideas and trying new things even if they seem challenging at first. She advocates for herself and even for her peers, which is a pretty remarkable feat for a student in only her second term of schooling! Congratulations Esme!

Canberra Day 3
What a fantastic way to finish our Canberra trip! We began the day with a visit to the Australian Institute of Sport, where students explored the world-class facilities available to Australia's elite athletes. We were even lucky enough to watch gymnast Georgia Godwin training in action!
Next, we headed to Questacon, where students enjoyed exploring the many interactive science exhibits and hands-on activities. A definite highlight was the giant slide, which brought plenty of excitement.
As our camp comes to an end, we hope all students had a wonderful time, created lasting memories and enjoyed the many learning experiences Canberra had to offer.

Canberra - Day Two
We had a very busy day today visiting the Museum of Australian Democracy, the Australian Electorate Education Commission, the Australian War Memorial and Mount Ainslie Lookout. After coming home for a reset and dinner, we went bowling at Belconnen.
It's hard to believe we only have one more day left!

Stage 2 students had a fantastic day exploring the rich history and natural beauty of Kamay Botany Bay. Throughout the day, students learned about the experiences of First Nations peoples and early explorers, including James Cook and Sir Joseph Banks.
Students followed in the footsteps of the Endeavour crew along the shores of Botany Bay, explored the unique Australian bush and discovered the plants and animals that fascinated early explorers. They also worked collaboratively to build shelters using natural materials and sketched native plants just as the scientists and artists aboard the Endeavour did in 1770.
It was a fun and engaging day for all. A big thank you to the Rangers for providing such an authentic and memorable experience.
📸 Enjoy some highlights from our adventure!

Congratulations to Ava, who is our Values Student of the Week. Ava demonstrates the value of Confidence as a member of Illawong Public School's Drama Ensemble. It can be tricky to put yourself out there on the stage and take a risk, so we admire and commend Ava on her willingness to try new things and strive for improvement!
