Congratulations to Maximos Papacostantinou and Caleb Chen, who represented Menai High School at the 2026 Table Tennis NSW Secondary Schoolboys’ Shield on the 31st of August.
The boys had an excellent start, winning all three round-robin matches and finishing top of their group. They then faced a tough knockout draw against Rose Bay Secondary College and, despite a strong effort, were defeated in the first knockout round.
More importantly, as Year 12 students, this competition marks Maximos and Caleb’s final representation of Menai High School in table tennis. Their journey began in Year 7, when they first represented Menai, and they have proudly worn the Menai colours throughout their six years at the school. Their commitment, sportsmanship and dedication have been outstanding, and we are incredibly proud of their journey.
The photos below are special, capturing the times the Class of 2026 students Maximos Papacostantinou, Caleb Chen, Lachlan Leung, Lachlan Marshall, Isaac Sest, and The Long Pham have spent representing Menai High School in table tennis, from Year 7 through to Year 12. Together, they shared countless competitions, friendships and successes, helping bring medals and memorable results back to the school. 🏓
One of the photos also features Maximos Papacostantinou and Lachlan Leung's incredible Gold Medal win last year. Sadly, Lachlan passed away earlier this year. His achievements, character and passion for table tennis have left an everlasting legacy at Menai High School. Lachlan will always be remembered for the positive impact he had on those around him and for the pride he brought to our school through his sporting achievements.
Thank you, Maximos Papacostantinou, Caleb Chen, Lachlan Leung, Lachlan Marshall, Isaac Sest, and The Long Pham for proudly representing Menai High School and helping build a lasting legacy in MHS’s table tennis history.
