We love delivery day!

Our students were excited to unbox our latest order of books from Mick Elliott, Jane Godwin, Sami Bayly, George Ivanoff, Rachel Jackson and Liv Lorkin.

Next week, each student will meet these wonderful authors at StoryFest OutWest. We love the opportunity Somerset Storyfest provides to connect our students with authors, inspire their imaginations and nurture a lifelong love of reading.

We’ve started reading some Mick Elliott (The Turners) and George Ivanoff books with the kids at school in preparation for StoryFest, and they are absolutely loving them! We may have spent a little longer than planned immersed in listening yesterday… 😂

Tonight I read You Choose: The Treasure of Dead Man’s Chest to Jade. We had to restart three times, making different choices each time, and I’ve now been told we HAVE to read it every single night because it is “so funny and amazing”! 😂

I haven’t told her yet that she gets to meet the author in a few weeks… 🤫

We had such a great time in Isisford at Sir Wally Rae Athletics that we weren’t able to get any action shots!

After a strong start with our war cry this morning, our students walked away with the overall perpetual trophy! Everyone had an amazing day and are looking forward to next year already.

Thank you Isisford State School, Isisford P&C, Isisford & Yaraka ICPA and all of the other small school student, staff and families in attendance.

We were lucky enough to have David Littleproud MP visit us this morning. The students loved telling him stories and sharing our school.

Students this term are learning about persuasive texts, perhaps by the end of the term they may have convinced Miss McMaster that we need pet goats at Ilfracombe State School.

Day 8 on the road. Longreach to Charleville, on the home stretch back to Warwick.

Five hours in the car today, but well worth stopping in at Ilfracombe State School for a chat with the students.

Some great ideas came out of it too, a pet goat for the school was a personal favourite, along with a strong pitch for a waterpark!

Great to see the next generation of Maranoa already thinking big.

We loved welcoming our friends from Isisford State School on Friday for a fantastic day of cooking, gardening and team-building challenges.

In the afternoon, students enjoyed El Camino (The Journey) – an engaging performance celebrating Latin American music and culture. They had the chance to sing, play percussion instruments, learn about traditional instruments, and experience how music can bring people together across cultures.

A wonderful day of learning, connection and new experiences for everyone!
