Walford is a dynamic school offering a friendly, family-orientated environment where each girl is encouraged to be the best she can be. Progressive teaching and guidance are provided in state-of-the-art facilities to provide our students with the very best preparation to follow their future ambitions. Our school is a vibrant community where learning is prioritised and lifelong friendships formed.

Our campus is designed to facilitate positive interactions across year levels and to provide the sense of belonging and connectedness that each girl should feel with her school. We were the first girls’ school in Australia to offer all three programs of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the first girls’ school in South Australia to offer the IB Diploma. Walford warmly welcomes students from ELC (boys are welcome to attend ELC sessions) to Year 12, including boarding and international students.

Last night, our Middle School community came together for an evening exploring Resilience and Grit. 💙

Through insights from staff and counsellors, alongside the voices of our Year 7–9 students, families heard how we support girls to build confidence, agency, healthy persistence and strong relationships.

A wonderful evening of reflection, connection and conversation around helping our girls embrace challenge and flourish. 💙

STEM Week was in full bloom! 🌱✨🔬

From making native seed bombs and enjoying & native inspired high tea, to experimenting with photosynthesis through our very own “celebrity crest heads”. There was plenty of hands on learning, creativity and curiosity happening across Walford.

And of course, our Science teachers looked the part in their STEM Week tees! 💙

Following Early Learning Matters Week, we were delighted to welcome Minister for Education, Lucy Hood, to our ELC and share the important work we do in educating and caring for Walford’s youngest learners. 💙

The children proudly showed Minister Hood their artwork, learning experiences and spaces, before enjoying a reading of Shoo You Crocodile! by local author Katrina Germein and illustrator Tom Jellett.

As the ELC explores the idea of connection with people, places and the natural world, the children were excited to discover a local link in the story, which is set in the South Australian Museum. They were delighted to recognise familiar spaces and exhibits from visits with their families.
