The Learning House

The Learning House The Learning House provides quality care for children from 0-6 years. In 2020 The Learning House was established by George Papadopoulos.

We take pride in providing a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for all the children's individual's needs. We would like to respectively acknowledge the Cadigal Wangal people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we play and learn. Poppy Gribilas is our director who manages the centre. Our educators have many years of experiences in Early Childhood education which we value a

nd take pride in. Our centre reflects the diversity and richness of the local and extended communities that our children, families and educators belong to. By being inclusive and recognising the differences and similarities between people, we aim to connect with our communities and achieve a harmonious coexistence. A child's development and learning begins with their families. We value these family relationships and aim to bridge the gap between the child's home and the centre. We actively seek opportunities for partnerships with families, to enable children to make connections between prior experiences and new learning. At The Learning House we are responsive to children's individual needs and provide a warm, nurturing and caring environment that fosters a strong sense of well-being in each child. We have currently went through assessment and proudly achieved Meeting National Quality Standard (M)

Book Week was a fantastic way for the children to connect with their favourite stories and characters, which is so important for their development and sense of belonging. By dressing up and sharing their special books, they were able to engage deeply with the narratives and characters they love, fostering no the a love for reading and a sense of community.
Intergrating Book Week into the Early Years Framework ( EYLF) in this way not only supports literacy development but also enhances social skills and personal identity.

Our older children went on an excursion to the local park. We discussed road safety, talked about the environment and our community and had so much fun playing at the park. We used the play equipment and created an obstacle course, developing our co-ordination and gross motor skills.

Today we had a special visit from Kindi farm and it was a success with the children.
The children shared happiness and humour while interacting with the animals which helps them build a sense of connection with their environment.
It gave the children the opportunity to get close to the animals which helps them be more confident, improve their self-esteem, social skills and overcome any fears they may have towards animals.
Most importantly it gave the children the opportunity to learn and practise empathy, care and respect towards other living things.
