Brief Introduction of Stance Training

All martial arts with greater emphasis on striking also focus on stance training. This is because the stance is the source of generating striking power and also the foundation of defence.

Different styles of martial arts have different emphasises on stance training. There is no right or wrong in this aspect. In our training, we practise the stance in a relatively slow and static manner for lengthy periods.

We try to first relax our mind, and then pay attention to the changes of the body transforming from being tensed to a relaxed state. Once we feel and understand the coordination of our stance, then we can start to practise using it. Gradually we will see the increase of our striking power, and our ability to withstand more force applied to our body structure.

It is vital that we practise our stance using our mind to think and to feel our bodies, otherwise we will just be standing there like dummies.

馬步練習簡介

每一個打擊技的武術都會注重馬步的練習, 因為馬步是攻擊勁力的根源, 也是防守結構的基石. 所謂, "各師各法, 各馬各扎"! 所以無必分對錯. 要經過漫長的時間, 靜態的馬步練習, 心神要輕鬆但專注, 才能細心留意到自己身體由緊至鬆的變化, 繼而開始練習運用馬步, 增加攻擊勁力的本錢, 和增加身體結構的承受量. 但不要為站而站, 否則就變了"罰企".
