Boronia Park Public School is situated in the Sydney suburb of Hunters Hill. The students enjoy a leafy and aesthetically pleasing school environment wi

th interesting play areas and extensive gardens including a large vegetable garden. There are 19 classes - 16 mainstream classes and 3 composite classes. Approximately 27% of our students come from families that have a language background other than English. The school community enjoys a strong partnership between teachers, students and parents. Parent involvement in the school is encouraged and appreciated by staff. Our P&C Association and School Council provide valuable support to every aspect of school life. The high standard of student achievement at Boronia Park Public School is the result of the excellent teaching and learning programs particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy. Teachers work collaboratively to ensure that quality and effective educational programs are planned and taught so students can achieve the expected stage outcomes. Class curriculum is differentiated through group work to support student needs i.e. some student need remediation and consolidation while other students need to be challenged and extended. Even though great emphasis is placed on the academic learning of our students we recognise the importance of developing the whole child and catering to diverse interests and talents in the creative and performing arts, sport and integrated technology (IT). Students have many opportunities to explore their creative interests during class activities as well as through parent supported band, strings, recorder, dance, drama and choir programs. Students enjoy a wide range of cultural experiences and participate in a variety of performance opportunities including concerts and special festivals. Our 2014 Kindergarten - Year 6 (K-6) Celebrate concert showcased our talented students. The development of our student's sporting skills and interests is also a priority for the school. This is achieved through in-school programs as well as participation in PSSA sport, various sporting programs, gala days and carnivals. Technology is embedded in classroom pedagogy as students are prepared for the challenges of the future. Our student wellbeing philosophy is centred on the four core school values mentioned in our school song and reinforced by our school rules. These values are friendship, harmony, cooperation and respect. Students who feel happy, safe and accepted at school learn to the best of their ability and have the confidence to explore, question and make sound decisions. At Boronia Park Public School friendships are developed, differences respected and school life is celebrated.

Huge thanks to all the performers tonight at our first Virtual Comedy Night! Weren’t they great?
Special thanks to our very own, incredibly talented & funny Carolyn Swindell and Katie Little. You were both hilarious.
Big, big thanks to our wonderful BPPS parent band, the newly renamed Hunters Hill Collectors! Gill Taylor, Wern Darge, Tom Hollings, Cal Paterson, Justin Penhall. Awesome gig!
Carolyn Swindell and Pete Cooke worked tirelessly securing talent and arranging all the tech for the night! Thankyou both. Tonight would not have been possible without your vision, creativity and your considerable efforts. You guys rock!
Finally a big thanks to our class parents for promoting the event, our school parent community and everyone who joined in. We really hope tonight gave you a few laughs and a chance for a bit of fun!!

VIRTUAL COMEDY NIGHT Saturday 14th November
We’re getting close to curtain-up on BPPS’s first ever Virtual Comedy Night this Saturday night at 7pm. Tickets are still available for you to party with friends or laugh along at home alone.
Because 2020 is the Year of Everything Changing All the Time, we’ve had a line-up change and are super-excited to welcome Harry Jun to our line-up and Al Del Bene as our head-liner for the night.
Harry Jun is a real up-and-comer on the Sydney stand-up scene. Starting in 2017, without telling his parents, this teacher-by-day, comedian-by-night lives and busts all the stereotypes with his sharp writing and sharper delivery.

L.A. Comedy Awards’ Comedian of The Year, Al Del Bene started doing comedy in Boston at the age of 18. After years at the top of the stand-up scene in NY and LA, his TV appearances include Comics Unleashed, HBO’s Tourgasm, NESN Comedy All Stars and Jon Lovitz Presents.
Al has travelled to Kuwait and Iraq, with the U.S.O. to perform for the troops, and has also performed comedy & music for more than one hundred sold out Stadiums and Arenas as a featured act on Dane Cook’s Isolated Incident Tour.
Now living in Sydney with his family, he has performed at The Sydney Opera House with Bill Burr and has appeared on The Comedy Channel, Network 10 and Just for Laughs.

Al and Harry join home-grown comedy superstar MC Daniel Muggleton, 2018 RAW Comedy winner Bec Melrose and our very own Katie Little and Carolyn Swindell bringing you the LOLs LIVE from BPPS school hall via Zoom, accompanied by the soon-to-be-award-winning (surely?) BPPS Parent Band for a night of music and laughs.

Thanks to everyone who attended the BPPS Golf Day! The rain held off (mostly) and the banter, fun and laughs filled the afternoon. Congratulations to the winners Murray Pell, Ciaran Curley, Jeff Soo, John McLachlan.
