🐻 Bandaged Bear Day was a huge success! Our clinic was buzzing with excitement as five amazing nurses triaged all the bandage bears brought in by our students. Each bear received lots of care, cuddles, and even a special sticker for being brave. Thank you to our dedicated nurses for making learning about health and wellbeing so much fun!

🚔 We were pleased to welcome members of the Police from Wagga Wagga Wireless Network Group, for a short visit today. It was great to have a chat, say hello and learn a little more about the important work they do behind the scenes supporting our local police and community. Thanks for taking the time to drop in! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

🧸🩺 Bandage Bear Day at Humula Public School 🩺🧸

Our inaugural Bandage Bear Day was a wonderful SRC fundraiser supporting Westmead Children’s Hospital and the children and families who rely on its services.

We were grateful to welcome five amazing nurses — Claire, Ella, Chandler, Dani and Esther — who generously gave their time to bring the day to life. Claire and Ella, both former students of Mrs Stewart, returned as qualified nurses to give back to the community. Chandler also enjoyed visiting the school where his grandmother worked more than 20 years ago and the school his father attended.

Our school became a mini hospital, complete with waiting, triage and treatment areas. Equipped with scrubs, stethoscopes and real medical equipment, the nurses cared for a busy collection of sick and injured bears and stuffed toys! 🧸

The experience helped students build confidence communicating with medical professionals and understand what to expect if they ever visit hospital.

Afterwards, the nurses enjoyed a taste of Humula life, playing handball, meeting our chickens — including Pompom the Silkie — visiting the pony paddock and enjoying the playground.

A huge thank you to Claire, Ella, Chandler, Dani and Esther for making our first Bandage Bear Day so positive and memorable.

The students have spoken — the nurses MUST come back! 💙🧸🩺
